I started playing with Tasker on Android and after the initial

@Edie Spencer: Actually, not, Edie. I wrote my first book a Dell laptop and relished the feel. My new HP desktop's keyboard doesn't keep me engaged for too long. Perhaps, it is an individual thing.

I spent 2 years writing my first book over the weekends. Now, I am doing the same for my second one. I doubt if I can gatecrash a novel without worrying about quality.

I am working on a novel and I use dropbox to backup my work. At the end of each session, I email a copy to dropbox (I use the sendtodropbox add on) and it conveniently overwrites my previous copy. That's one use for dropbox for me.

@jawnz: If only they put out an Android app, life would be perfect.

@hockeybrad: I think I am also experiencing something similar.

Another one of my android quibbles is the inability to use a contact's nickname to voice search when dialing.

To this might I add, if you got kids destined to kick up a tantrum, do everyone a favor and get a mild tranquilizer for him/her.

@TehBeardMan: I am sure. Unfortunately, if it involves rooting, I am out of luck. I got a G2. But I should check Androidforums nevertheless.

My biggest gripe with Android so far is that when the screen locks out, it completely blanks out. It would be nice to have an option to display missed calls/messages/time in a very faint state like my old sony ericsson would do.

:( G2? Can I has root?

MediaMonkey. I have never known what iTunes is.

I have set Firefox to start searching as soon as I begin typing and therefore this doesn't work for me (And I got downvoted for saying this on Reddit!!)

Is there a reason to use this as opposed to their web interface?

@mike_311: As long as you keep it clean. I haven't (yet) purchased a UV filter for my 70-200 or 17-40 the last few years, but I am extremely careful with them.

So I decided to finally jump in and got myself an Android. I got the G2. I was extremely happy the way Tmo was able to merge my brother, wife and sister-in-law into the 750 minute Data+Voice plan.

Android's stock alarm does the job. An alarm needs to have these three things:

Considering the science (or the serious lack thereof) pertaining the use of chemicals interacting with foodstuffs, I would rather use my Lodge iron skillet than this.

Did not work on my G2. It could not open the video recorded by the camera. In fact, the app crashed and caused the screen to black out.

Drank the Google Kool Aid and got myself a G2. No regrets so far and the phone is blazing.
