Actually thinking about it I think it’s part of their attempt to have season 4 mirror season 1. The basic flow of the intro is “here’s Rebecca, oh wait no it’s this other one... Oh she’s kind of all over the place, let’s go back to something simpler” but to quote the first intro ‘the situation is a lot more nuanced

Oh yeah it's the weakest of the theme songs, but I think what I described before (other Rebecca also has problems) is what they're going for.

The theme songs tend to make more sense the further you get in the season, the first one aside, so I’m assuming this will happen.

I’ve been thinking about it and even ignoring the happiness well side of things Doug shouldn’t have been considered a model for getting into the good place anyway as he’s not actively trying to do good, he’s just trying not to do bad or repenting when he does. Compare him to Real Eleanor (yes she was made up as a

Or the baby in a Three Men and a Baby sequel. I think he could pull it off.

I hadn't thought of it before but I suppose unlike Micheal and co they can use their door as much as they like so they could have just popped in and out to use bad Janet's powers.

That Sufjan line has always stuck with me.

There were two reused scenes to the best of my recollection (Eleanor's confession and the bed scene)...

If you look at it from the angle of Eleanor is always trying to find excuses to put up walls around her it makes sense. She may not necessarily believe herself, but saying "I can't have been in love because I lack free will" is easier for her than acknowledging the fact she can, which completely changes her whole

“Sometimes you’ve got to be straightforward with the ones you love, like that time I told my good friend Oedipus that perhaps he should see a therapist”

I’ve just watched again and Micheal says they’re going to Canada to meet someone whose life is so good they’re a model to aspire to (or words to that affect), not “let’s go meet someone that figured out the afterlife” so it may not be Doug.

In fairness I believe it was before the bald scene which was so disarming that it's difficult to remember anything before it!

They mentioned they were in Arizona right at the start.

I feel like Jane’s weird bed thing was shown last season but I’ve not seen it in a year.

I took her look as being excited to spend time with him (and to help, she loves that too) but didn't want to be over the top.

Perhaps she's going to convince them to be more philanthropic to in turn help others? They have a lot of money, stature and influence after all.

I wonder if Eleanor will now, in her attempt to do good, start self-censoring her cursing so the show has a reason to say fork again.

Let’s hope Chidi doesn't insist on his stuffed body being displayed at his uni when he dies
