I met a friend that I hadn't seen in a while and we took a mini vacation together. We were seeing the sites and she looked at me and screamed "Let's take an USSIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" An Us-ie. Like Self-ie, but with us. Is this a thing too?

Because militarization of the police.

We get it, you're trolling. Second attempt at satire was unnecessary.

"Men just hate the hypocrisy and duplicity."

He probably did think about the baby. He probably thought about the baby being at daycare.

Agreed. A lot of people may delude themselves into thinking they could never do something like this. But in reality, almost anyone could.

I can't imagine the unbearable pain the father is in. Unfortunately, its not something that happens due to negligence, it's more due to how our brains can go into "autopilot" and forget seemingly important things. I wish we could figure out a fool proof way to stop it from happening, some sort of censor that might

I agree that they should return the dog to the guy, but cut it out with the HE'S OVERSEAS! IN THE MILITARY! SERVING FOR OUR COUNTRY!

Agreed. I would watch a Weirdness Pageant all day. Not if it was some Manic Pixie Dream Girl, quirky type of weirdness, but if it was a bunch of ladies with big hair and Vaseline on their teeth in bikinis and heels getting up and going, e.g., "I eat omelets full of Elmer's glue to ward off the devil."

With LSD.

"Ax" is actually an older pronunciation of "ask". Much, much older.

'Correct usage' is a nebulous concept. Who decides? What happens when popular pronunciation shifts towards the 'incorrect' (let's say, 'newer') pronunciation of a given word. Y'know, the way that things have happened for fucking centuries?

As someone with a degree in linguistics and a particular fondness of sociolinguistics, I just want to say that linguistically speaking there is nothing wrong with using ax (aks) instead of ask. The term in linguistics we use to refer to this phenomenon is metathesis which can basically be boiled down to the switching

Actually, there's fair evidence that the original pronunciation was "ax"—In any case, it goes back at least 1000 years (according to the O.E.D.). And for what it's worth, the first complete English translation of the Bible actually said "Axe and it shall be given." So if you really want to be "educated" you should
