I cringe for a lot of things like this, but this doesn't seem that bad. They're being polite hosts, and it seems several of them know something is up for sure.
Gravity is also a likely win because of the voting system, in which voters rank films, so a small number of people ranking 12 Years really low could cause it to fall to Gravity, even if more people voted for it second. I still guessed 12 Years in my Oscar pool, but I wouldn't be surprised if Gravity takes it either.

There are some people who support language stabalization, certainly, but none who deny what drives most language…
Some folks can appoint themselves masters of the language, but masters they are not. French evolved naturally from Latin hundreds of years before such an organization existed, and the Latin scholars of that day lamented the terrible bastardization of the Latin language.
THIS is the ZODIAC SPEAKING!
Excuse you, but I've been commenting on Jezebel for years; it's just a sad, sad era and stars are gone so my heyday has passed. SUCH A POINT OF PRIDE, these gawker site commenter hierarchies! On this site or any other, I have yet to see any real string of "OMG 90 MINUTES A DAY OF EXERCISE IS CRAZZZYYY" comments. There…
Just for kicks, I took a peek at the OED page for "privilege," and oh my, how it is filled with examples dating back to 1680 that don't fit your simplitic, narrow definition! Even if you want to play LANGUAGE IZ STATIC POLICE, you fucking lose.
Now English has no central authority, if enough people use a word to mean a thing then that becomes a thing the word means, no matter how wrong headed it may be.
