In a weird way it's also rather hilarious that geeks should worship shows and movies that push the idea of gender equality but then freak out when when people try to apply that idea of gender equality into geekdom itself.

The Royal Flush gang just isn't as fun without powers, super tech, or an android. It could have been just any old boring family of bank robbers given the only thing they had were the masks with a card theme to them.
With the re-branding and the move to less and less science fiction I just gave up on Syfy. While it was a network I loved in the early days it just felt like viewers like me were becoming less and less important. Which is a shame because no network is brave enough to go into space except for the occasional episode…
Ha ha, likely because the people who flock to Micheal Bay movies aren't exactly the type to read anything much less internet posts. The sort of people who love to wallow in their own poor taste and the quest for the lowest common denominator.
I guess Jaime Lannister needs to kiss up to his brother a bit more.
Exactly the charm of the original series was how the Munsters were so clueless about being different. They figured they were just your average American family and they looked so confused when people freaked out.
One of those episodes where we get to reflect on a societal problem so we can ponder where things went so wrong. There was a time when fat people had to walk to the back of the store to buy cookies, now they can just ride a motorized chair to get even less exercise. Or how "reality" TV started out innocently enough…
I was thinking the same thing. How is the magical thing that keeps even a basic dynamo from generating electricity able to distinguish between bio-electricity that we need to live and electrical requirements for everything else?
I've found that some male geeks just don't know how to react around women. I don't know if it's the years of rejection, the isolation from people in general, or what, but there is an inability some times to see women as people. More than a few times where I've stepped in for a friend to explain to some guy how to be…
I think Scotty has the greatest lie because it make you look at the original Star Trek in a very different way after decades of thinking you knew the show so well.
Sadly I think you are right. For me Smallville started out pretty cool, but the no tights no flight thing got old after the series had gone for so many season. Sometimes it felt like we were going to end up with a 40 year old Clark Kent who never actually becomes Superman.
People tend to go crazy for pyramids and treasure because they are flashy finds. The meat and potatoes of archaeology comes from less flashy but really important finds. So it turns out it's not a lost pyramid but it does the good of getting archaeologist interested in the site again.
I agree it's really sad when it's easier to steal something than it is to give people money for it. Too many place still want to push cable subscriptions on you even if a cable subscription isn't what you are looking for. Instead of a service like Hulu Plus Warner Brothers rather make their shows and movies hard to…
It's okay as dumb as television and movies are getting it might be a good thing to have a lower IQ so you can't see how horrible entertainment has become.
Not having as many people would solve all sorts of problems. Although oddly nations like Japan have found that you end up with problems when you have lots of old people but not enough younger people to take care of the older population.
Oh I hope the flop of Battleship means we are getting closer to the day when we don't have to deal with Micheal Bay type movies. Fingers crossed that people are starting to get a bit of taste so Transformers 4 the "no reboot" with an all new human cast will do poorly.
I think they should show the brave guards with the thankless task of having to protect the display from people dressed in monster costumes. Got to admit when I first saw this project the music to the Godzilla movies was playing in the back of my mind.
If we greatly extend our lives I think we would also see some major shifts to society.
I want to see the film bad enough that I'd go watch it in black and white if that was the only option in town.
The disease seemed to hit out of the blue so the early cases had the mental symptoms without seeing other people die of it. Although given the long list of things that could kill you and the primitive state of medical care I guess people lived in at some constant fear of disease.
