Well it was a rated R film and not a really heavy traffic time of year for movie theaters so the opening box office doesn't seem all that bad.

Hollywood just makes it way too easy for us to fall into these traps now.
While it's true there is some chance that there are people would not get the joke the film does seem to run with the idea that the majority of it's viewers have watched way too many horror films over the years.
Or perhaps instead of a famous horror director they could have used someone well known for horror films. As cool as it was having Sigourney Weaver I agree it did have a feeling of Paul did it first. So imagine that same scene but with Bruce Campbell instead. Enough Evil Dead nods in the film to make it work.
My only very minor tiny disappointment was I was looking for something like a giant testicle at the end instead of the giant hand.
Considering that I'm not entertained by Micheal Bay movies it's kind of scary to think how bad something is that it can't even live up to the low, low, ride the short bus to the theater standards of a Micheal Bay film.
When people connected to a movie say don't worry that's when worry tends to kick into overdrive. It just seems like every time a geek movie has gone horribly wrong someone was telling us not to worry.
It's a Platinum Dunes production that has a lot of Micheal Bay's attention so that should tell you right there that none of the characters will look or act like you remember them. With Bay's Transformers fans were having to ask who's that robot so I'm sure Turtle fans will have to ask who's that character?
I'm not so sure that the show is an much technology vs nature as it is technology vs tradition. For example the advancement in firearms changed how societies set up for war as now you didn't need a wealthy person in expensive armor who trained all their life for war.
Worst of both worlds really a bad director being encouraged by a bad producer who can't see his own flaws as a director. Pretty much nothing to stop the tag team of bad ideas.
The hate of Cersei Lannister is a bit weird. She's as about as good of a villain as you could hope for so you should get upset at the evil things she does and then gets away with. That her evil plans sometimes get out of her control only makes it more interesting to watch her try to impose her will.
If Micheal Bay's Transformers didn't clue you in that tasteless people show up in large numbers for mindless or nearly mindless movies then I'm not sure what gets across the point that we live in a sad era of crap cinema. Movies are about the lowest common denominator with the occasional good film accidentally making…
Yea our society is kind of strange.
It seems money is more of curse than a blessing when it comes to movies. I watched Moon and I loved it because I got into the character and really wanted to know what was going to happen to him next.
@Ruu27: Yea I really enjoyed Atlantis. It was such a nice mix of serious to light hearted that the show never felt like it was in a rut and you had the fun of not knowing what to expect. I think they also did a good job with that wonder of discover.
The only problem I see is that you can't have the chair turn around in super villain style.
