I was with the episode, albeit not super into it. I'm a sucker for Weird Appalachian tales, I liked Zed and found her pleasantly odd, and Matt Ryan is still giving good Constantine. But the direction wasn't nearly moody enough to pull off lingering horror in bright, cheerful sunlight. At least shoot on some overcast

I know. It's depressing as hell, but whatcha gonna do? Trying to savor it while it lasts.

The Weisman was strong with this one. It's a good change.

I'm predisposed to like "Zuko Alone" primarily because it's Avatar doing a spaghetti western, mixed with a set of flashbacks that recontextualizes a lot of what we knew about Zuko's character. Plus it's a damn fine piece of standalone entertainment. But at the end, Zuko rides off into the sunset, and when next we see

My suspicion is that it's going to start out marketable and move in its own somewhat weird direction—Clone Wars did the same thing, and my guess is that as long as its pulling in ratings (which it will. It's Star Wars) the brass won't care too much what they're doing with it.

Penny DREADFUL, dude. It's right there! Penny DREADful makes no sense!

Also, if Superman can run faster than the Flash, then what's the point of the Flash? He's got like, one power, guys. Let him have it.

"Dogs? Fuck, you did not tell me there would be dogs. I'm out."

So for somebody who's curious but doesn't have the money to buy it, how does Cataclysm end?

For the record, Old Testiment God doesn't go in much for the tormenting people for all eternity. He's more of the quick, decisive smiting type. The whole "eternally vindictive" thing is a Christian addition.

The Moment being John Hurt's companion works on so many thematic levels. I love it.

I don't feel like Korra is quite acting in character—it's tough to say exactly why, but something about her dialogue feels off. It may also be that the animation change has affected the way she moves and holds herself, because there's definitely something off about her.
