Sony used to make amazing shit. The Walkman WM-20 was gorgeous like a Swiss watch. And then hubris got the better of them and they decided they weren’t going to play the “open standards” game and tried forcing their proprietary formats down people’s throats (remember Memory Stick?). That greedy move was the beginning

Sony peaked in the 1990s. Then they got greedy and lost the thread and started to design crap. They especially lost their way in interface control design.

Why? What was a successful gadget they created not in the 80's? They should just make Playstation’s and profit.

It not “you” swimming sick thats the issue, just an FYI, its Joe Schmo stranger who’s swimming in the same pool and doesn’t know not to when he has a shitty illness.

Fucking Germans.

True - even so, I’m sure the chances only bring the number into the hundreds or thousands of a percent. Either way, 1) don’t swim if sick 2) you’re very unlikely to ever even be affected by this

Totally agree you shouldn’t be swimming (or generally interacting with the populace) if you’re sick, but I’m at least comforted by knowing that my chances of getting into a compromised pool in any given year is 0.00000328% (about 10.709 million estimated pools in the US, 493 outbreaks in 14 years). Basically saying -

That’s how adapter is pronounced here in the South. No need for the emphasis.

But don’t forget this:

Woah, let’s tone it down a notch. Maybe the guy was just an annoying prick who feels the world owes him something. This is not the exclusive domain of people from one or even several ethnicities. But if the guy’s name was Chad

I’m in. But if I could I could ask Tig a question, it would be: why not Taylor Dayne as Pres? Maybe she’ll be included in the inauguration ball scene performing a la Beyoncé.

After Sandy Hook, I lost all faith that it’s ever going to get better. The fucking fanatical second amendment nutjobs and right on the whole shrugged their collective shoulders and said, “Eh, I value guns more than human lives.”

Everytime this happens I think of 16 year old me watching the kids walking out of Columbine. I am 35 years old now. Its been almost 20 years. That’s longer than these kids have been alive. And all they have ever known is that high school is somewhere where you can get killed. Its just all depressing as fuck, and NO

I used to cut / self harm as a teen as well and half of the mess I felt was shame about my scars. So shitty of him to do. Hope she is getting support nonetheless and is getting better!

And yes the one at her other school did in fact saddle her with a criminal assault charge when she punched an 18 year old senior who had been hurtling insults at her for months. We have court in a week and a half. School resource officers are a goddamn scourge.

We’ve been dealing with shitty SROs for the entire year at both schools. Yesterday one of them noticed her cuts on her arm (she is a cutter but has been doing much better for the past year with only two relapses) and proceeded to interrogate her about it in front of everyone, so that’s super cool.

I got you.

Now you just have to worry about SROs who act like prison guards.

My daughter was sent to alternative school for the remainder of the school year and I have never felt safer dropping her off each morning. It is like a prison but at least I am pretty confident that a kid with a gun would have an incredibly difficult time getting into that school. And holy shit that is a really sad
