Not only can people here not deal with snow, they can barely deal with rain. Denver already has some of the worst drivers (I blame the high number of SoCal and Texas migrants) and there is nothing worse than introducing precipitation into the mix. Everyone is either a)too scared to drive over 25mph, or b) think

... and my understanding is that their fees are on top of any other index fund fees, making it even more expensive. If you want Tax Loss harvesting and the other gimmicks you could also just buy similarly priced actively managed funds which will do this and more.

I find the fee structure expensive - .35% on less than $10k, .25% on $10k-$100k, and .15% on over $100k. Maybe at over $100k you are getting somewhat competitive pricing, but otherwise you can get way cheaper prices on index funds. I use Fidelity and the ETF's trade free and fund fees are sub .1%. Betterment is

In real terms the price is down slightly. November to November core inflation was around 1.7%, and a $400 price increase is about 1.5%.

This is why many people use real (inflation indexed) numbers.

That's fair, but also the reason my wife and I recently bought a GTI instead. We share a car, she doesn't drive stick, and I genuinely enjoy the dsg. I am interested in seeing what the CVT in the WRX is like, but there are good auto transmissions out there. Unfortunately, subaru has never really made them...

I feel this is apples and oranges a little bit, but looking at only US sales. Sure, VW only sold 350k cars in the US (under that brand, they also have Audi), but they sold over 9MM world wide. As a shareholder I would prefer they continue the global focus, rather than design a CUV that would likely just compete with

Guessing Bill will be suspended before he can say anything.

Yeah based on these pictures I've taken much rougher roads in the 2010 Golf TDI I had for a while, with a hitch rack on the back (which was usually the problem on forest roads as you had to take a tighter angle to navigate large bumps or it would hit on the way down).

I would take a base 328 over a 320 every time. Why would you ever spend more than 30 grand on a car that puts out 180hp?

Most new cars are decently equipped base nowadays. The only one I wouldn't buy is the 320i because its stupid that any car for 30k makes only 180hp.

Agree. Just bought a base 2015 GTI, and there isn't really anything I wish i had in the more expensive models, and on higher trim you get leather seats which I don't want (tartan plaid is classic). I still don't understand what the appeal of sunroofs is and could care less about a back up camera in a compact car. The

Haha, I wish that worked. I wake up when its still dark anyway, so I don't think sunlight is the issue...

Yeah I usually go to bed between 9 and 10, which is perfect. The problem is the random night where I have a dinner or something that I need to go to and don't get home until 11 or midnight, then the next day I'm dying and I am not able to sleep in.

I don't really take naps (can't fall asleep easily), so doesn't really work. On weekends its usually something I can just sort of work though, during the week though if I have a random night where I don't go to bed until 11 or whatever then my next work day is crushed.

I don't use an alarm clock and basically wake up at 5:30AM every morning. I'm going to say that there are times I wish I could sleep in, because if I go to bed at midnight I'm basically worthless the next day, and being able to sleep till 7:00AM or 8:00AM would be magnificent.

I spend about $40/month in gas on a GTI, so I don't think its that unreasonable. And that includes mountain biking on weekends. If I didn't do the latter it could easily last weeks.

$5/month. The gains outweigh that though. Assume (conservatively) 5% annual return, and as long as you have more than $1200 in it you will come out ahead. Add in tax benefits and you need far less to come out ahead.

I grew up in Vermont and live in Colorado and think AWD is overrated for snow. Any FWD car with GOOD snow tires will be better than a 2wd with all seasons. The only real advice is not to buy a RWD pickup, they are truly awful.

Yeah that being said, I'm annoyed that this guy is showing off his wallet that costs more than an iPad and his watch that is likely worth more than my car.

I usually keep mine in my bag as I prefer that to sitting on it.
