Agree? Surrogacy laws are very nebulous but I think there could be a case for a HIPAA violation for whoever was the source.

The agency gets more because that money isn’t just used for them. The parents are on their own for getting a lawyer that is in charge of sending out the payments to the surrogate and drafting the initial contract; the agency, on the other hand, pays for a surrogacy lawyer for the surrogate that is outside of the law…

Kim and Kanye are asses, but people need to get off the “they’re only paying them 45k” thing. It says right there that they used an agency. The agencies set the fees. I’d assume Kim and Kanye would pay extra for living etc, but for the actual fees you pay what they ask of you. It’s not like they just hammered this out…

The problem with VERY private arrangements is that they are not known to work because most people don’t think of all the possibilities and know the monetary average cost for services. It is best to have a mediator because all the details of surrogacy need to be laid out by people who are aware of all the risks. And…

I personally like Kim and Kanye and I’m glad they’re doing that. She comes off as a good mom.
