You should check out the “Leader-Follower” tech the US Military is buying. They envision the 1st truck being manned, and then followed autonomously by a convoy of ‘smart’ trucks. It solves a ton of problems, not for small autonomous cars, but large scale transportation and logistics.

Google the making of that Street Fighter movie. To this day, it has the rep of being one of the most debacherous undertakings in Hollywood history. Think piles of cash, kilos of coccain, and tons of guns. It’s worth a trip down the internet rabbit hole on that one.

All of this is fallout for Ford not pricing the car correctly. At $1.2M they would make an extra $800m off the 1000 made so far, and lower the resale profit by 50%, lowering incentive to flip it. 7000 people tried hard to get one at $450k, I bet they could sell 1000 at $1.2m.
