I hope you are going to set him straight? He needs to know now that there is a lot more to cars than just cheap transportation. A boy's first car is like his first woman; do you want his first time to be with a cheap whore too?

That makes sense, but they could get around it. Like when Ford used to import its new trucks from Canada without the rear bumpers, so the truck would be taxed at the lower rate of an "auto part" and not a complete vehicle. They could do something similar to control the inventory. Where there's a will, there's a way....

I love these cars, and this one has pretty good potential. The 318 is a strong runner, and the interior is 1/2 done already. I'd want a new fuel cell straight off, and I'd have to see how much ductape was used in the frame swap, but if it was a clean job, then what the heck. NP

Well they are actually 4 cylinders, and with the proper tweaking can put out quite a bit of power.

Custom orders are one thing, but I'm taking about everyday cars. The manufacturers could simply place warehouse distribution centers in all the major cites, stocked with the most poplar models. How hard is that? Technically, it could be same day service, all you need is a crew of minimum wage drivers. The way it is

But did you know they were considered hairdresser's cars when you bought it?

I don't get it?

The Miata ruined it for everyone. But what I can't understand is why presumably straight men still drive them? Do they not know? How can anyone be that oblivious? It's like saying, "I don't care how these pink leotards look, they are comfortable, and I'm going to wear them!".

Well, your theory is exactly opposite of how the real world operates. Most high priced, low volume items are better suited for showrooms, whereas less expensive, high volume cars could be "easily" adapted to a distribution system like Amazon; "purchase by 5:00pm today to have your 'Blue Corolla' delivered by Friday"

Could there be a bigger contrast? Those Leaves have to be the ugliest car on the road, and the Tesla is one of the best looking cars ever.

I had a pale yellow '67 with a 1776, dual carbs, exhaust, etc, it was fun as hell.

Ford sells somewhere north of $12 billion a year and the dealers make 10%? (I'm guessing). I think for a billion dollars a year they wouldn't see it as a bother, nor would their shareholders.

I think you're wrong. I'm guessing all of the big players would love direct sales, and they are just waiting for someone to open the door for them. You think Ford likes having to share profits with a middleman?

Be nice, I lived in Idaho, and being 10 years behind the rest of the world was a badge of honor.

The Highway Patrol in in Australia uses the supercharged Falcon GT, 600hp. They catch everything.

I don't care about the rust, it's not an investment, and as long as I'm not Flintstoning I couldn't care less. I think it's a pretty fair price. Under 100K and a rebuild (which seems odd, but good). I'd fix the necessities, throw on some meatier tires and just drive the shit out of it. It would be the perfect truck

Looks like about 1700gpm, (6" pipe at 100psi)

I guess you have to expect this sort of stupidity when the ground crew and pilots are paid poverty level wages. You get what you pay for. I'm just thankful they make those planes so even monkey could fly them.

I'm somewhat impressed by his technique. I probably would have tried to land on my feet and roll it out, but he went for the full commitment body slide; that's stuntman material.
