Jesus what a stupid hill to die on

I know I shouldn’t expect better from this hellsite, but a better article would have included the history of the NBC Peacock, and why they applied the name to their streaming service:

> nobody

500 million? They really have jumped the shark. If this isn't a sign of their demise, I don't know what is.

Oh, this one stings. I was in high school in the ‘80s, and there wasn’t anyone who didn’t like at least one Cars song. Even my metal stoner friends (probably because of the scene from Fast Times that showed Phoebe Cates getting topless to Moving in Stereo) liked them. I have fond memories of driving around aimlessly

For us old folks out there, it’s really hard to describe what it was like when the Cars first album came out and how every song just took over the radio. Not to mention malls and dances and parties. There’s not many albums, especially debut albums, that just exploded like that. Those songs still sound really good now

I feel like most artists pay lip service to that stuff about needing to take a stand and show a conscience, but Bono actually put on his sunglasses and tried to go to the White House.

After 10 years as a nanny, and having therefore seen it at least 100 times (without exaggeration),  find that (as much as I love it) I cannot bear one more viewing of ‘Beauty and the Beast’.

Alcohol. I formerly loved beer (and several years living in Germany and Belgium helped expose me to some truly excellent brews). Then... I stopped enjoying it. The pleasent buzz of a drink gradually morphed into nothing, then turned into nausea. Then, I started experiencing severe hang overs without even getting

This was me too. I burnt myself out on Led Zeppelin as a teen but then revisited them a couple of years ago and was pleasantly surprised what a 10 year break did for me. Really enjoyed revisiting them, but I’m still more likely to relisten to Plant’s solo work.

I’ve never quite gotten to that point, because it seemed unnecessary to rewatch when I realized that dropping a line into casual conversation in certain nerdy circles would trigger a reenactment of said scene in its entirety.

U2 - Faithful listener for 20 years from Boy through All You Can Leave Behind. And then I just lost interest. The songs had become more competent than inspired, but that wasn’t the only reason. I just couldn’t relate to the band members anymore. They seemed more like CEOs in a billionaires club than peers. Around the

Monty Python.

Comic book superheroes. There, I said it. I grew up on comic books, I was as big a superhero fan as anyone. But enough already. Also post-apocalypse dystopian society stories. These two genres used to be at (least nominally) metaphors for real world issues. Now they’re just endlessly self-referential circle jerks.

“Conspiracy theorist who thinks Kurt Cobain was murdered” probably doesn’t need to write for the AV Club.

Hey as someone with terrible recurring insomnia you just gave me a great idea.

So, just to clarify ... you are saying that this *is* an intentional direct attack on Biden’s age and mental acuity then? That’s how I read it too.

Are you kidding me here?

I thought Harry or somebody said Granny watched it.

Bullshit. It was a personal attack, a calculated attack, and it was a low blow, and it was disqualifying. Did you not hear the gasps from the audience? Castro was obviously waiting for an opportunity to work that angle, and it was ugly and low. The consensus I saw on social media was that it was way beyond the pale.
