I just think this is the worst thread I’ve read all year.

She makes me reeaallllly uncomfortable now. I can’t quite say why exactly.

May I ask what your point is, bringing Michelle Obama into this, with links and quotes? I have no idea what your point is, at all. Bring your tampon voice in.

The densely illustrated book about him, well designed by Chip Kidd, was amazing and heartbreaking.

“You lost, get over it.”

I love the title.  And the idea of satirical 15 minute radio musicals, sounds good.

That’s the thing- he’s on MSNBC a lot, usually constructively, but I see he’ll even go on Fox. As you say he’s been quite dogged on this Russia thing, he’s a member of the House investigation. So he’s “thirsty:, been on TV for a year, but to Crosbie here, “No one knows who he is”, as if he were some common Rita Ora.

(psst, think you mean Wallace Shawn?)

“the whole stolen valor thing” - The thing is, Palin lied about that. SBC never said he was a veteran, didn’t wear a uniform or anything, wasn’t in a wheelchair (it was a mobility scooter). That’s according to the producers anyway. I can easily believe that Palin pulled the whole thing out of her ass and lied to

Can we crowdfund and send Milo hundreds and hundreds of kneepads?

I enjoy the anecdote that Trump told Ivana he didn’t want his first son to be named after him because, “What if he’s a loser?. He had reason for concern.

If only voters in North Carolina (I am guessing, since this article does not tell us what state we are talking about) could vote in a way that says, “down with this sort of thing.”

I swear the Times opinion section exists solely to kick liberals, Dems, progressives.  Yesterday Frank Bruni (who I suspect is a Log Cabin Republican, ugh)- he gave this long scolding lecture to liberals about Civility.  All because some liberal blogger I have never heard of tweeted something unkind about GHW Bush.

Apologies, but I believe it was “Chunky” Reese Witherspoon.   It’s important we get this Douthat horribilism correct for posterity.

Mm, already got that dumb wrong point, my good MwFuller. Read it the first time.  “I was only saying what I was saying.”

Eleanor is a lovely and noble name, thanks for your kind reply, glad you had a laugh with Eleanor of Whackwitane.   Badass indeed! Brought back memories.  Best to you!  :)

Good point. It’s weird, but I read a lot of British papers and authors and articles, and I think I was unconsciously using their terminology. To them, “middle class” means what we think of as “upper middle class”. Really affluent families with nice renumarative jobs and clothes and a second home for vacations,

It’s just the sickest thing.  Yeah, I don’t miss the East Village.

Good points. But Baldwin does indeed makes Trump seem like a dunce, with a pouty mouth that looks like an anus. I hear you, they could go deeper and darker, but we should remember it’s just a light comedy show, and it’s Lorne’s SNL. He doesn’t do deep, nor does he risk upsetting powerful people in any real way.

“Sounds dreadful. Love, Margaret.” I thought this sketch was funny in its evolving complexity, and Foy was indeed enjoyable. Mikey Day was quite good too. Mikey almost giggled at one point, but yeah the delivery was perfect. The unnecessary thing was “She joined the German Army!” at the end which, duh, we had
