It’s always weird to me that people want a series to be something totally different, rather than just playing something totally different.

The “stuck on” screen makes it easier for automakers to upgrade the size in future mid cycle updates, or offer multiple sizes for different trims, without having to redo the entire dashboard or putting huge “you should have gotten the larger screen” penalty bezels. 

The Chrysler Sebring Convertible used a glass rear window. The stitching tends to fail on those causing the glass to fall in. I’ve seen quite a few with this issue.

Glass was more prone to breaking and took more engineering to maneuver when opening/closing. And those plastic windows were cheaper to replace.

Cause this is what happened with my glass Miata window on the track...you better believe my next one was plastic. Also, over time the top will start to unseal from the heavy glass window anyway. Also easier to wear the zipper out. I liked my glass window more for sure but I don’t think they’re really that much more…
