I think we’re diverging a bit on the topic of “legality.” I know I’m substituting the US legal system here, but I assume the UK is relatively similar.
Breaking your company’s Non-Disclosure Agreement is not a crime (let’s exclude stuff involving government security clearances, for simplicity’s sake). Sure, you’d be in…
The boxes even look the same, just with amiibo written on it.
Just an fyi we all do exist in our own space time. When we interact it’s a mixture of your space time and my space time. Our relative frames of reference determine whats observed. It’s just that we are all moving so slow in comparison to the speed of light that the differences are basically negligible.
This isn’t a bug, it’s by design.
Except I DO want a Multiplayer Fallout game, and I’m loving the BETA so far, having played in every release of it so far... stop talking for others when you can only realistically talk for yourself. Do I want better? Yes. That doesn’t make this version bad, just not the best it can be... and with this exploit, I…
So a sort of Uncanny Valley corollary for video games in which the realism of the environment highlights the unrealism of the NPCs and makes them more profane in comparison
For me, it’s because Red Dead Redemption 2's extra world details point towards a larger desire to simulate something real and actual. That impulse and the details that go into it are directly at odds with the people in the world itself, who cannot ever be real or have agency because they exist (perhaps here even more…

Honestly, I’ve never used one of the “Unofficial Patch” mods. And I’ve been playing since Morrowind. /shrug
it would be nice if games media would actually take bethesda to task for their many games that still are plagued by game altering or game breaking bugs
But that’s not an example of brushing off the bugs. The author acknowledges that the bugs exist down the last sentence.
To make things a little more clear: on NES Tetris, pieces almost instantly get stuck to the stack. You don’t have the long grace period of more recent Tetris games that allow you to slide the piece around on the stack. Also, the horizontal speed of the pieces when you hold a direction is very poor compared to the…
Perhaps whoever made the fewest moves (and thus was most efficient), or whoever did the largest amount of damage in one hit, or whoever did the most amount of damage in the shortest amount of time. Heck, make that part of the match options, where players/tournaments can decide which tie-breaker they want to use based…
A good company would keep crunch to a minimum I think you meant to say. I’ve done conversions that last a week and end up in 12-16 hour days. It’s part of the job but it’s very few and far between. Months of crunch is inexcusable.
Crunch time in this industry has more to deal with human psychology and “standards”. Creatives are freaks. The work weird, they have ebbs and flows moreso than other workers who also always work differently depending on the day, mood, etc. Basically beyond all logic.
“a better or more prepared driver could have made it through fine.”
Yes, fall damage is handled well in Breath of the Wild, because it’s one part of a well designed system of climbing, gliding, and stamina management. But the threat of fall damage is still an important part of that system.
Falling damage doesn’t bother me if it’s scaled in a sensible way. It if exists to prevent minor shortcuts, that’s an issue. If it’s there so you don’t just skip a large portion of level design, yeah I can understand its existence.
