Not really. It’s quite easy to dedupe accounts when you have time to examine all the data before selecting entries. Unless the scalpers also have thousands of addresses to send the cards to, it would be extremely easy to spot them.

It’s not practical for scalpers to enter a lottery. So that removes that demand. And for normal people, it changes the lottery of “will my computer load faster than the next customer” into, well, an actual lottery. So it’s a win in that sense too. It’s really the only fair way to distribute items when the demand comica

To be clear, there is no mark up in the traditional sense. The items in the combo are sold at MSRP. There are a lot of people claiming NewEgg is selling the cards for above MSRP, but that’s because they haven’t realized what the “tariff adjusted” MSRPs are.

Yeah, for a while there on 3090's the scalper price on StockX was actually less than the tariff adjusted MSRP.

For what it is worth, you can return the combo item you don’t want separately. You pay for return shipping though, which is unfortunate. So, basically, the combo system is a way to fight bots that hurts _everyone_.

This statement is only true for turbocharged engines. Adding HP after the fact to an NA motor is horrifically expensive, and anything even remotely close to changing HP by a noticeable amount will involve serious mechanical modifications to the internals of the engine.

Yeah, the only mirror you’re _required_ to look in in the first story sequence works correctly. I think maybe two other mirrors I ever looked in worked, the rest were bald V city.

Yeah, you can tell this is true for pretty much any non-inventory 3P view as the same thing often happens with mirrors, if it even loads the content at all. Which is weird, cuz you don’t get that problem in the inventory view.

Yeah. Though it’s kinda weird to think about “your V” being played by some random QA person.

I think the most hilarious bug I encountered was one where V’s clothing textures for her currently equipped items just stoped existing. So even though I had clothing on, I was running around stark naked visually. If I switched

Yep, positive it wasn’t the computer. But that’s just because originally it _was_ the computer, and once I got the computer stable the game would crash and not the whole computer. It was a surprisingly good stress test :p

Sorry, that was supposed to say that it was _not_ something they would want to see. Stupid Kinja edit time limit.

Yes, Tesla’s current valuation only makes sense if you assume Tesla will at some point capture nearly 100% of the TAM of the personal automotive industry. Which is ridiculous, because even if they could do that logistically and popularity wise, they couldn’t legislatively, because they would run into antitrust

Yeah, Tesla raised about $800mil by going public if memory serves.

Yeah, it’s very, very clear that by the time COVID hit they had only wrapped the opening chapter from a playtesting and polish standpoint, and that a shitload of content got cut after the fact because of the challenges of QA’ing a massive open world game remotely. The opening sequence is basically completely bug free

Witcher 3 may be janky, but it doesn’t crash every 30-45 minutes, which has been my experience with 40 hours of Cyberpunk thus far on a very high end PC. I can stand jank. Crashes make it really hard to stay immersed in the world. Thankfully they have an extremely frequent checkpoint system or else I probably wouldn’t

The problem is that isn’t the world we live in now, where the ad is being used. Normalizing objectification and fetishism of the otherness of trans bodies is, I imagine (not being trans I cannot say authoritatively at all), something that trans people today want to see happen. This same thing is true for the S&M stuff

Yeah, I didn’t put together that Claire was trans until she flat out tells you she went through a gender transition (somehow I missed the flag bumper sticker on Beast). It was, by far, the most “just a person” representation of a trans main character in a game I’ve seen thus far (and I mean that in a good way).

And since the scalpers have already proved the market will bare an increase in cost to the parts of at least 20%, there is even less incentive for the card makers to eat the costs themselves.

Er, so, actually many hybrids (including the Prius and most of the Fords as they used the same system) work this way. The gas engine is never directly driving the wheels, it is always acting as a generator for the electric motor which then drives the wheels.

It’s not just the automotive companies. The people buying the cars often want specifically to be able to be visually identifiable as owning an electric or partially electric car so that they can lord it over people.
