The acting is amazing. The guest stars this season were a blessing but were not used to their best ability. Courtney Vance is amazing but his storyline was so minor. Same with Sarah Silverman, she's nowhere near my favorite actress but her storyline was interesting (although way too convenient).

No way did they *not* purposely elude to their relationship being romantic! Go over to EW's and Vulture recap and lots that thought that too so I'm not the only one that was questioning their motives. Its ok to disagree but to flat out say there is no way a reasonable person would assume this is off. Disagree if

Thanks for the intel. I know that the homosexual plot point isn't part of Master's actual life but the show did elude to it before it was revealed that it was his brother. This is exactly bothers me about the show.. it begins to go there with a plot and then quickly refrains from it. Its a stop start that is

Not in raising you but how *they* were raised. And again, broken bones are too far, even for that time. The understanding would be that in trying to provide decipline it went too far. This is not saying that people would be alright with it. I'm in my 30s but my parents are 70-73 so yes, children being beat to the

I agree but during that it would have been understood as accidently going too far. Try asking any only who is about 70 years old how normal spanking (and yes, taking it far enough that real damage was done leaving scars and bones broken. Sad but this was their reality. Honestly I was raised by a strict Catholic

Honestly no. Per the time* a son being beaten by his father is normal and common. This is 1950'S US. My mother was born in 41 and my dad 44 and this normal per that time. I've read somewhere that every US president was stanked and everyone I know during that same time were also spanked. Yes, there is a line from

The ragged writing on this show is seriously pulling me away.

I see that they may be going there but its done horribly and even if Coral has the most romantic life any women could ever ask for.. why would Libby care? There are women in her circle of Dr wives who obviously get more attention and respect that Libby does. I'm not buying Libby and Coral's equal playing field.

I can't imagine anyone going for the hot sex life of a 19 year old. Not even today and I would agree that a 19 year old probably does have a more exciting sex life than many. If that was the purpose why cast a super young women who is so young that contemplating her sex life wouldn't feel so icky. For her to

Agree 1000%. On top of Coral's story being inappropriate (yes, I know who started it), she is a 19 year old girl and all I thought when Robert showed up to the Masters house, was her would be arrested. This wouldn't be good for Robert if it happened currently.

Feel the same as you. I'm hating the Coral/Libby and Betty storylines they are just too out there to be taken seriously.

I can't get over how Coral and Libby's storyline has developed. It makes no sense and I don't think they had a direction when filming it. Lying to Libby would have only done worse for Coral and lying about a intimate relationship with her actual brother is just weird. The first reaction Coral gave was that of

Masters continues to break new ground by continuing his study as the only white physician in a Negro hospital but at the cost of his gynecology practice. Libby is confronted by Coral's brother, Robert, over her poor treatment of Coral, Betty reunites with her former lover, and Johnson struggles to right her

Question: Is Robert Coral's older brother or boyfriend? If he is her brother, why would Libby advise her not to see him anymore? If they are dating, I do not understand Coral telling Libby that they live together or taunting Libby with how passionate her relationship is. My program guide states that he is her
