I am a practicing attorney and I have no idea what it means to “crawfish out of the deal.” Admittedly, I don’t practice a lot of crustacean law. Are crawfish reputed for breaching contracts?

Per the article, the dealer told the country club ahead of time that it could not offer a truck as a giveaway because it did not have enough lead time to set up the insurance. That’s how these things generally work — there’s an insurance policy that covers the cost of the prize (so on those scratch-off mailers where

It’s the same engine as any other GTI so any power bump would just be in the tuning, which is easy enough to accomplish on your own.

I went to Turin for work in late 2017 and FIAT Pandas of that generation were *everywhere*. All over the place. Not in a kitschy/ironic way, not as collector’s pieces, just daily drivers. For what it was intended to be, that car was just fine.

The thing that gives me heartburn about this is the continuing “app-ification” of the Office universe. Microsoft has already basically abandoned the proper desktop version of OneNote in favor of the Windows 10 “app” version, stripping out an enormous amount of functionality in the process. I also feel like the Office

It’s interesting to me that the AA pilot union is opposed to extending because AA has not ordered either the MAX-10 or the -7, and the -8s they operate are not affected by this. SWAPA is in favor of the extension, and Southwest has ordered hundreds of -7s (without which that variant probably wouldn’t exist).

And AA. The 320NEO was a game-changer and made airlines lose all interest in waiting for a clean-sheet Boeing design.

Ford puts out an anniversary-edition Mustang at most five-year intervals and every decade. It’s easy money, someone will always pay a premium for that graphics package.

There was nothing “whatever” about the Golf Harlequin. Love it or, incorrectly, hate it, but that was a package intended to polarize and it succeeded.

When your sister brand has Eddie Bauer and you just cannot be left out.

Maybe a bit rich, but unmodified CRXes are damn near impossible to find. I voted NP but I’d probably need the seller to knock off a grand or so. Then I would swap in a K24 and have one mighty fine track toy.

I don’t get the transmission choice at all. The humble GTI (and its VWAG brethren, up to and including the Audi RS3, which I would probably take over this car) gets a dual-clutch transmission, as does the rival M3/4. Why does the performance flagship have a slushbox automatic?

Much easier to game EPA ratings in an auto because you can program it to shift for maximum efficiency, at least under the throttle loads used in EPA testing. In a manual they are required to shift 1-2 at 15 MPH and then continue to upshift at exactly 10MPH intervals thereafter. An auto can be mapped to shift wherever

Why is that, exactly? Auto loans are by far the easiest secured credit to enforce — just send a tow truck and take it to auction. Not like, e.g., a mortgage, where a sufficiently motivated borrower can stay in the house without paying for a year or more in some places. And subprime interest rates more than account for

+1 moose bite.

Came for this. *cries in Stuck in the Left Lane Behind a C6 With Chrome Wheels and a Cold War Veteran License Plate Frame at 68 MPH in a 70 Zone*

And if you want to chase lap records, do it on a track. There are plenty of those around.

I kinda love it. It’s clean, and you could swap in a better engine/transmission, wheels and tires, and police-package brakes and suspension. Would make a cool hot rod and/or sleeper.

I’m about to drop a grand or two for a new water pump and oil-pressure sensor on my (paid-for) 2017 GTI. EVs have neither of those things, nor do they require DSG service (or clutch replacements, if that’s your thing), oil, filters, etc. Much simpler mechanically.

Whatever happened to revolution for the hell of it?
Whatever happened to protesting nothing in particular? Just protesting?
Because it’s Saturday, and there’s nothing else to do?
