This. The tradeoff is that it’s a strict-liability regime: if you are injured or killed at work, you are entitled to damages no matter what and do not need to prove liability.

So they have hubcaps now? Interesting!
NP. Solid, classy, timeless styling and the car seems to be well preserved. I wonder what it would cost to redo the leather, but other than that it looks like a great Saturday night ride that stands out in a sea of leased SUVs.
“These include a weepy rear axle seal, a clunky balljoint up front, . . .”
Yeah, I’ve heard from multiple sources that drivers simply don’t cruise in the left lane on the Autobahn. Here in the U.S. it’s a God-given Liberty and people get shitty when you pass them on the right.
What happened in Montana was that there was a “reasonable speed” limit, which either the Montana or US Supreme Court held to be unconstitutionally vague.
Yeah, most of my dailies (though not my current one) have had three pedals, but manuals are just flat stupid in some cars. And this is one of them.
Imagine a 996 interior without 996 performance or driving experience, at a substantially-greater-than-996 price! Who could say no?
The Yugo was nothing less or more than a badge-engineered FIAT Panda, just as almost every Pontiac Anything sold since the Baby Boom was nothing less or more than a badge-engineered GM Something Else.
I’m at close to 100k on my 2017 (admittedly, a *lot* of highway miles early on), and beyond consumables and scheduled maintenance, I’ve had to replace the USB port in the dash console. That’s it. Cost me $190. It’s the first VWAG product I’ve owned, and maybe I’m tempting fate and about to blow a turbo or something,…
Big greenhouses aren’t coming back, ever. Pedestrian-impact and side-impact standards constrain how close to the ground the beltline can be, and those aren’t going away. Love it or hate it, but there’s nothing Acura can do about it.
This! The list of cars suitable for track days, IKEA runs, and daily use by a 40-something professional is all too short. I love my Mk. 7 GTI, but nothing lasts forever, and I’m very curious about how the hypothetical Type R might stack up against, say, an Audi S3.
*1980s. The Boeing 757-200 first flew in 1982 and entered revenue service on January 1, 1983. I’ll thank you in advance to leave your Trump-bashing Fake News to another thread.
Is it available with the bigger brakes and LSD that used to be part of the GTI Performance Package (and are now just standard on the higher trims)?
I see Jalopnik has adopted the autojourno trope of breathlessly repeating whatever meaningless data is in the press pack without telling us what, if anything, it means. “The door handles are completely redesigned and, Honda tells us, 400 percent stiffer than the ones on the outgoing model!”
This is the credited response. The dual-clutch gearbox in that car is great, it’s better than the manual — I said what I said — and once you get used to paddle-shifting and left-foot braking you may find that you don’t miss rowing your own as much as you thought you would. I certainly don’t.
It’s sloppy writing. The FAA cannot prosecute anyone because that is not the FAA’s job. What it can do is refer a case to the FBI for criminal investigation and/or the US Attorney’s office for criminal prosecution. And (I think) it can assess large civil fines, which is generally easier to do and is probably at least…
For my next illusion, I will make this vintage ocean liner DISAPPEAR!
I lament Acura. The market transition to CUVs and turbo engines probably hit them harder than any other premium brand. Their sweet spot doesn’t have a place in the market anymore.
On a lot of the premium/”club” seat tiers, I seriously doubt that very many are actually sold at face value. I suspect they’re mostly sold in large blocks to corporate accounts at some fraction of that, for later distribution to employees and customers, or, when the team is struggling, dumped on the secondary market.…
