I'm pretty sure if you actually had to go they'd let you go during the commercial breaks. The contestant people kind of hover over you constantly asking if you need anything during that time. The longest you'd have to actually hold it would be the length of a single filmed segment, which is like 5 or 6 minutes.

There's about a three-month gap between the online test and being invited for auditions — I think exactly how long depends on where you are (they're scheduled by city).

I used to post on AV Club a lot several months ago under the name "Arthur Chu", before they revamped the comments yet again. I wonder if anyone remembers me.

If two people with different scores have both gone all-in then the one who had the higher score is overbetting. If you're in the lead you only ever need to bet enough to beat or tie what the person trailing you would have if they went all-in.

The answer was a "tease-out" for me (as we Jeopardy fans like to call it).

I've often pointed out that people who loathe Ayn Rand actually seem to know more about her and her work than people who love her.

Thankfully nowadays even if you take third place with $0 you still get a $1,000 cash as a consolation prize.

They actively tell you to do this in contestant training — if you do accidentally lock yourself out you need to keep hammering so that you get in as soon as the lockout expires (it isn't cumulative).

Bunch of Jeopardy fans on Twitter were snarking about my spastic desperate rattling of the buzzer trying to buzz in. I actually did end up switching the buzzer from my right (dominant) hand to my left hand midway through the episode and started getting in all of a sudden — weird how that works.

Well, the real Arthur Chu (that is to say, me) put this photo up on his (my) Facebook and Twitter leading up to the air date to get his (my) friends pumped up to watch it, so I could easily have jus stolen it from him (myself).

The only evidence I am prepared to offer that it is in fact me is that creating a fake account to pretend to be a specific person who is a "Jeopardy champion" would be a very odd thing to do

I won on Jeopardy last night, does that count as a story?

I will only entertain this conspiracy theory from people who also acknowledge the many eerie similarities between the premise of B5 and the classic video game Star Control 2.

Hokey dialogue and mediocre acting.

The funny thing is while Chappelle's Show was itself an example — maybe even the prime example — of this phenomenon, it regularly directly and specifically mocked this phenomenon in a very blatant way.
