I sometimes wonder whether the people who bullied me and other kids in our school when we were young even remember that they did it. I assume a few of them were/are assholes through and through, but most probably grew up and normalled out.

I have a two-year-old, and I shudder to think how things will be when he hits high school. I have this faint optimism that the pendulum will have swung back a little by then, but I don’t have a ton of confidence in that.
