Exactly! The knife smash move was a game-changer in my garlic game, and I can’t bring myself to use the pre-minced stuff. It takes like, an extra minute to my meal prep and is definitely worth the minimal work (though admittedly yes, mincing garlic is probably the most tedious of prep work).

In terms of modern, still-alive composers, I’d say he is. Most of his movie themes are ones you could hum off the top of your head: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter (the first couple, at least - but the main theme was him), Jurassic Park, Jaws, Schindler’s List, ET, Home Alone...yeah, I’d say so.
