One small thing I love is Hanks' space program nerdiness shining through. "Mr. White", "Jimmy Mattingly", "Lenny Haise"—all named for NASA astronauts (Ed White, Ken Mattingly, and Fred Haise). Also, "Faye Dolan", I presume was named for NASA engineer Tom Dolan who proposed Lunar Orbit Rendezvous for the Apollo…

Same here—but check out her turn on "Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee". There's a clever intelligence to what she's doing (and the out-of-character coda is satisfying). Not saying I could stand watching this act more than occasionally, though.
