If they don’t want people playing their mods for free then they shouldn’t be releasing them in a public marketplace like the workshop. Modding is a hobby, plain and simple, people want to be getting paid for a hobby now? pffftt, talk about “entitled”. If I enjoy building and painting model cars in my spare time and

no worries, you already made a fool out of yourself, just going through all of your replies is comedy gold my friend, keep it up :)

I could call it seven days, but there’s a single word that’ll do the job, and that’s ‘week’. I’m sorry if you interpret my end of this discourse as insults...perhaps your reading comprehension isn’t as strong as you think? If I were you, I’d be more concerned that all the commenting I did over various threads tonight

If you build off an established intellectual property, you have to play by the owner’s rules (outside of fair use exemptions). If you don’t like the rules then find something else to do. I don’t mind.

So they had that “chance” for less than a week, and this is how bent you get? Don’t need to lecture me about the definition of ‘entitled’, amigo. You’re the embodiment of it.

Looks to me that you really have no idea how the modding scene works, stop embarrassing yourself and make a little research before talking nonsense.

Except that when paid mods came online, they started complaining about the percentage they were getting. So which is it, crumbs from donations, or a quarter on every dollar? Gamers aren’t the only ones acting entitled here. Now, cut the tormented artist bullshit, and let the thinkers figure this out.

Scenario:

Nobody starts modding with the hopes of making money off their mods. They do it because they are curious and they have fun and then they get attention. You listed art, music, and writing, except all of these things have established ways of earning money from them, where as modding does not and has never. You can’t

No, it’s not. And mods are still able to accept donations, no? With the exception of some really bad feelings, they are in the same situation they were in a week ago. Come in off the ledge, homie. It’s going to be ok.

Actually I AM an artist and sell original art prints and know this is a bad idea for creators because it allows for intellectual properties to be infiltrated and monetized by a third party and that’s NOT good. If anyone has no talent it’s the assholes who use something they had no hand in creating to make add-ons and

there just wasn’t a way for them to take advantage of a paid system before

...modders aren’t modding for fun? Given that they didn’t get “paid” before last Thursday...what were they doing it for then?

Ummmmmmmmmmmm that is how the world works. Do you know how many times I’ve had to give people a refund because they didn’t like their sandwich, after they ate every last bite.

Modding has never been like that so keep your ignorant opinion about things you know nothing about to yourself. Modding is free except for donations, if you don’t like it then you have no business modding. lol Such stupid people coming out of the woodwork to share how ignorant they are with everyone.

Put a “Pay what you want” button. I’ll donate if i like the mod and feel like he deserves money.

I remember seeing a list of manga references somewhere, but I can’t quite remember where. Gamble Fish:

I blame the department and let me tell you why. They praise rookie officers. They’ll go around making a 100 arrests a month, and they’ll praise them. These rookie officers will do anything to get an arrest because they want more praise, you know what I’m saying? This is the result of it. They arrested Gray for some
