MRAs tend to be less obvious in your daily life, when you're saying hi at the coffee counter, or discussing traffic at work. Generally people don't talk all the time about feminist issues and so (in my experience anyway) it takes longer to realize that someone you know IRL has MRA-type views.

Kids never think that a gift is a bad thing - and their parents, if they love their babies, signed up for those programs to make sure they get some holiday joy that the parents are unable to provide. :) You're definitely appreciated!

I've been married twice. The first time I changed my name because I didn't like my birth name and I did like my name with my new husband's. When we divorced I kept it, and when I remarried I didn't change it. I've been Arili Newname my entire adult life. It's MY name now and I like it, so I keep it.

This is explains so much about my neighbor's spawn.

I love The Backyardigans. I have small children and babysit other people's small children, and The Backyardigans is the only cartoon I can really permit because the others make me want to stick knitting needles in my ears and gouge my eyes out with spoons.

That is not true. I have three children and used to work full time via telecommute. It's not the best solution for everyone, but my kids are good at following instructions as far as chores or homework, making simple food for themselves such a PB&Js or grabbing the snacks I kept in the fridge, and entertaining…
