Okay, sure. I’m racist because I think you need to actually understand something about a people in order to make accurate comments about them, their history, or their intentions. That makes sense. After all, I spend my whole life making comments about your people that are ill-informed and badly articulated, and then

Um, “the new negroes?” Please. Do you even know anything about Jewish history in this country? I mean that honestly. Do you? Because I’m referencing a history that is rather recent and obviously continues into the present. The white supremacists in Charlottesville were shouting about wanting to murder my people right

Well that was a clear and thoughtful comment. Thank you for your contribution.

Damn good point.

This is such a masculinity so fragile moment. Weinstein is being accused of taking very clearly inappropriate actions, so all these other men are concerned about their behavior? It’s almost like men have no idea what it means to actually be appropriate and professional in how they approach women...

“The mere accusation against a man can sink a career?” Puh-LEEZ. These women—WOMEN, plural—accused Weinstein for YEARS and he got away with it. In a few cases, he had to pay money he could well afford. So freakin’ what? I have literally never heard of a man actually being fired because of sexual harassment complaints,

So I can’t get hired unless I show my tits and I can’t accuse someone of sexual harassment unless I look like I’ve never had sex. Screw Karen. What a horribly tone-deaf, insensitive, sexist comment to make.

Rose Mcgowan is just my favorite woman ever. She’s proof positive that a person can go from a highly successful actress making bank on a hugely profitable television show and then become a wise, powerful witchy badass in her later years, while still working and being a productive professional. I admire her very much

Because if there’s anything that we should all be terrified of, it’s “killer gangs”, which is connected to undocumented people HOW?

This is so disturbing to read. It does make me question whether I can place faith in the Democratic Party leaders to actually keep their hands clean. Mostly, I just feel sorry for women placed in this position. It’s a sad reflection of our culture if even some of the richest and most relatively powerful women in the

I mean, does it matter all that much whether the producers tried to come to terms with Cattrall, or whether she denied their requests immediately? She said no. She meant no. She was super clear about saying no. And she has that right.

Not surprised. Sad that nurses minimize female patients’ pain just like doctors do, but not surprising. I think they know that few of us are in a position to sue, so they use their power to manipulate and ignore us.

My “beef”? The story makes it clear that this woman was coerced, and experienced the events as coercion. Way to completely override the clear wishes of the woman in order to pursue a totally irrelevant line of inquiry, and be totally invalidating and vaguely sexist in the process.

Yeah, parents are. I’m not sure if that extends to life-saving procedures though, unless the parents’ choice is about religion and therefore is protected.

I mean yes, I was overdramatizing. I meant leads first-world countries. Obviously countries without access to health care are further down the list. But be literal, why don’t you.

Always an important point. And the US leads the world in the number of women who die giving birth, particularly because of high rates of caesareans.

A long labor in and of itself is not a sign of fetal distress, as others have said. More to the point, though—who cares if the baby is in distress? I mean that literally, even if it sounds very blunt. Obviously most mothers would want their baby to be saved using all available options, but not every mother would.

This is terrible and tragic but so not surprising to me. I went into the ER once and the hospital said I needed two surgeries, and the hospital scheduled them one right after the other.

I mean-what exactly is your argument here? Obviously you cannot possibly be expected to know someone’s correct pronouns without being told. If you ARE told and you go on ignoring this information, that’s on you.

Not necessarily. That show exploited her body and sexuality in a way different and more objectifying than any of the others. She has also clearly gone a very different route in her life and career. I say good for her. Plenty of us have friendships that we’ve ended over the course of a decade or two. That’s perfectly
