They went 5-3 you Fucktard. They haven’t tanked anything.

They didn’t have Bryant on their roster for a whopping 8 games. How’d they fare in those 8 games? They’re leading the division. I think they did alright in his absence.

The publicity of “the streak” overshadows the fact the Cubs overall have been pretty decent for their history. Also that the Phillies deserve the crown for worst original 16 team.

I’ll stick by my assertion that Jorge Soler is the most exciting player in Chicago until Bryant hits three dingers in a game.

Can’t blame the Cubs for playing by the rules. Sucks for Bryant but it would have been dumb for the Cubs to NOT do this. When they renegotiate the CBA maybe the players will address this if they feel it is a significant enough issue.

Coming down the pipeline soon: Addison Russell, Kyle Schwarber, CJ Edwards.

Fuck, this team is going to be fun to watch.

It’s also the same kind of move all of the other 29 teams would make.

Yea they sacrificed eight games. Oh wait....they are in first place. Seems to have been a sacrifice worth taking.

Stuff like this is why I stopped watching hockey. Unless he’s faking, he has a fractured wrist and media types are defending Subban’s right to slash. It's moronic.

I honestly don’t know why that deserved more than two minutes.

It was a blatant attack on a player. He wasn’t trying to lift the stick or get the puck because 1: the puck wasn’t anywhere near him, and 2: he swung from above in an axe-wielding motion. If this was Matt Cooke, we’d all be screaming that this guy shouldn’t ever be allowed to play in the league again.

61.3 Major Penalty - A major penalty, at the discretion of the Referee based on the severity of the contact, shall be imposed on a player who slashes an opponent. When injury occurs, a major penalty must be assessed under this rule (see 61.5).

I honestly don’t know why that deserved more than two minutes.

Cubs W. Hawks W. Bulls W. White Sox L. Perfect day in Chicago

Outside of football, no school sanctioned team is making money for the school. In fact the school loses money bc of athletic programs, and really only about 20-30 D1 football teams actually generate revenue for the school. So really (outside of football) the administration is defending these actions/stalling the legal

If you think one oblique nod to financial incentives is remotely responsive to my point, you’ve quite obviously missed it.

With the most pertinent evidence in this whole sad affair available for anyone and everyone to see, what exactly is the point of these stories? What’s left to report? What do you do when you’re a journalist with a high-profile public figure and nothing new to write about him? You start to weave a story.
