I really like how the bridge standoff played out. When Holden sent the distress bulletin my first thought was “They are fucked when Amos gets back.”

I think it would be kind of interesting as a HBO series or similar. There is a lot of ground covered in the comics that the original movie doesn’t touch. Both in terms of unexplored themes and just the fact that the plot continues for quite a bit longer than the movie depicts.

Welp. I guess I need to check this out. I don’t know how I knew so little about this show. I think I kept confusing it with Falling Skies would always seemed too TNT cheesy for me.

I disagree about Robocop. The remake was not a great movie*, but it largely targeted the same forces that the original did, with a more modern bent.

It’s a testament to Mulaney’s comedic voice how easily I could imagine every one of his responses in his cadence.

I’m holding off until Candice Bergen weighs in.

This newswire was a rollercoaster of Discovery for me:

Now playing

Your story just reminds me of one of the better VO jokes in a game, having Nolan North as himself be one of the player options for the President in Saints Row 3. It came was around the time when NN had become the ubiquitous voice in games*. It’s the sort of smaller meta-joke that SR always did well, even if they were

You’re probably right.

To be fair, it’s kind of how it’s really done...in space!

I take exception to the phrase “early-internet game Neopets.” Neopets launched in 1999, the height of the dotcom boom. The Internet was went global in the early ‘80s.

I had no idea wh0 that is or what debacle they might be in, but when I googled them I got this as the snippet under the link:

I don’t believe in ghosts as most people would think of ghosts

That was an A for me. Mulvaney did everything he needed to do. The only bit that didn’t work for me was the LaVar Ball stuff.

Man, that ghost question...It’s only ever going to leave me disappointed.

Or they could move their desk.

I think in the future David becomes more like Farouk in the future. Everything seems to be pointing towards that.

My biggest issue with lots of popular YouTube channels is how close they put the camera to their faces. Everything is an extreme closeup.

I’m not. I’m curious. Because someone else made the comparison to Whoopi, who famously was a big fan and whose support helped ST:TNG get through its really rocky first year.

Has Tig ever expressed a love of SciFi or Star Trek? I genuinely curious, because I know Whoopi really campaigned for that role specifically citing the influence Nichelle Nichols had on her as a positive role model as a black woman on TV.
