If he’s ex-military, I can tell you that all they probably did was look at his dd-214 for “honorable discharge” & maybe his attached medical records for any “red flags”(excessive alcohol abuse/counseling, anti-depressant prescriptions, service-related injuries--both for medical benefits compensation AND possible pain…
