The other day, a scientific website that I follow on Facebook posted about how something-or-other benefits “mankind”.
It was completely normally not to say “man” when you mean “human” twenty years ago.

Do they just sit in a room passing legislation that they know endears them to their base even if they know its useless?
We also tend to think that most 14-year-old girls are pretty, because we equate youth with beauty. It’s like talking about which toddler is cutest. There are some that are objectively not cute (or not beautiful), but we value youth so highly that it tends to overshadow even that.
By sheer coincidence, I say it’s ‘ridiculous’ to strongly imply that vaccines may not be safe because big government is bad.
I feel like if nobody had objected, we would already have stopped talking about this. It would’ve been a cute picture—not a story.
Frankly, twins have tons of disadvantages in life, and if they want to squeeze a little bit of advantage out of that, good for them.
Running with someone else is a strategy—helps you set your pace and keep going when it’s tough.
Also, not letting your twin sister pass you is a powerful motivator.
I don’t know if any of this is why they did it, but it’s not an insanely outrageous thing to do. If they weren’t twins, no one would think it was weird for…
Well, we think it’s people who aren’t twins that are weird. And there’s more of you, so that’s a lot more weirdness.
And it stops people from incessantly asking them which one finished first, and whether the other one is jealous, and so on. I mean, at least they’re getting different unimaginative twin questions this time.
As a twin, I bet you they really did this so they wouldn’t have to put up with incessant questions about which one finished first, and is the other one jealous, and is it hard competing with each other, and btw do you feel each other’s pain?
They do have dozens of livestreams all day, AND primetime coverage of some of the more popular sports. It’s just aggressively terrible primetime coverage. Even for NBC.
Generally there are two things that unite all Americans during the Olympics: winning more medals than any other country, and complaining about NBC’s…
The CBC has online live coverage for each sport, and then a primetime t.v. program that shows the highlights of the day. I don’t see why NBC couldn’t do the exact same thing...
I’m sure it’s a complete coincidence that her “medical condition” completely mirrors the symptoms of being a woman under attack by misogynists.
FWIW, according to the commentators on the live stream, catching yourself with your hands now counts as a fall, not an “almost fall”.
A fall is supposed to end your chance for a medal. Falling (on an event that is notorious for falls) and still getting a medal is insanely amazing.
The primary reason to wear blaze orange is so that other hunters will see it and not shoot you.
I’m not sure if this is because orange is somehow demonstrably more visible (to humans but not deer, apparently), or because hunters have been trained to notice it. But either way, wearing a different color seems like it…
The only logical reason I can think of is that some of these sports are dangerous. Pushing too far too soon could result in a serious injury, and gymnasts have relatively short careers, so losing a few months to an injury is a bigger deal. You have to decide when the potential reward is worth the potential risk. Would…
I watched the the stream online this afternoon. Even the commentators could not convince themselves that this was in any way surprising, or that there was ever any doubt about the outcome.
If you decide to go cheap and not pay for movers, you can still sometimes hire someone to help you unload when you reach your destination. (Check with companies like Uhaul for this.) I did this once while helping my sister move and it was the best decision ever. It’s hard to predict what the conditions will be like…
I’m pretty sure there has been research that has shown that people have inaccurate perceptions about whether or not advertising affects them.
Which is to say: Everybody always claims to see right through all of the advertising. It works anyway. It’s subconscious.
Because that’s how much respect they have for actual identical twins?
