I don’t mean the Lite.

Breaking news: law of supply and demand can really suck some times. Film at 11!
It’s almost like the skills that make you a good driver, athlete, soldier, et cetera, aren’t the same skills that make you good at playing video games where you pretend to do those things! Who knew?
I think the fact that the show really doesn’t shy away from the notion that “love can be hard” really helps. And I mean all types of love. There was a lot to wrap up in 13 episodes, so we didn’t get to see all the details we would have liked, but there are a lot of relationships that get truly tested. None of them are…
What’s really surprising about how it was executed is that it seems completely natural. So many different types of relationships are explored without any of them seeming out-of-place, nor one more important than another.
I mean look at Jasper and fans in SU.
I’m so glad She-Ra stuck the landing! Although SPOP is generally regarded as the better written of the two classic series, it still seems Mattel & other rightsholders treat it as an afterthought. The undervaluation allowed Stevenson creative freedom to take much bigger risks. Kudos to the powers that be signing…
I don’t think for a second that Catra and Adora’s relationship was played for the titillation of an adult male audience, but I DO think that’s it’s potentially easier for a showrunner to convince studio executives to allow two prominent female characters to get together than 2 prominent male characters. And I’m afraid…
‘friends of mara’ also feels very much like a ‘friends of dorothy’ reference, which is an old lgbt saying to indicate their status without risk of getting murdered or arrested.
Didnt voltron have a gay male couple?
Also I can’t speak for any other shows or trends, but the show runner of She-ra; Noelle Stevenson is a lesbian. She added plenty of diverse queer representation in the show. But I know, speaking as a lesbian my self, that when I write romance, i’m going to direct my focus on queer…
I think that we just don’t get to see it. Her redemption starts with saving Glimmer and it continues with her fighting the galactic Horde, helping free the Princesses and ultimately being the one to save Adora and help complete that final mission. But yeah, she did some truly terrible things. Adora is able to forgive…
She-Ra also had gay male representation in Bow’s dads and non-binary representation in Double Trouble.
I actually stopped watching S4 specifically until I got confirmation that this ship was a real thing.
“More shows and films are embracing queer characters and relationships, especially in animation. There was the moment The Legend of Korra ended with Korra and Asami, hand in hand, walking away together toward their new life. Then, of course, there’s Steven Universe, which has paved the way in LGBTQ representation…
Such a satisfying end to the show and a redemption arc done right. I was nervous Catra and Adora weren’t going to be canon until Catra stated: “Adora doesn’t want me. Not like I want her.” and I thought, yeah, that just went from subtext to canon.
I have this theory that the idea of sexual orientation doesn’t exist on Etheria. Essentially everyone there is pansexual, and they are just attracted to whom they’re attracted to, and love who they love and nobody thinks twice about it. I can see how it could invalidate some of the amazing queer progress this show…
As someone who hates artificial lighting and loves natural light - but also someone who likes playing games in as dark an environment as possible - I have blackout curtains on every single one of my windows. It helps tremendously when I’m gaming or watching something on the flatscreen.
Even though I haven’t been involved with game dev bugs, I have in software. What a lot of people don’t realize is reproducing the bug is the first (and sometimes hardest) step. There are so many factors involved. The most frustrating is when you reproduce it, then you follow (what you thought were) the same steps…
Agreed, gameplay should literally mean someone interactively playing the game. Not just cinematics, not just in-engine footage. If it’s gameplay but the game is normally going to have a HUD and it’s removed for presentation then just put a disclaimer at the bottom. This is easy stuff, people just want transparency.
