Some turbine engines aren't quiet. That does not mean that all turbine engines are not quiet.

They really, really need to get some sort of hybrid drive system put together for heavy trucking, where microturbines are a likely candidate for the powerplant.

While touring Banks' facilities, this piston rod prototype caught my eye, because I've never actually seen a piston rod in a car engine that looks quite like this. Normally, the split at the bottom that allows the rod to mate to the crankshaft is cut horizontally, not at an angle like this.

Absolutely. Going to a state school in another state is often as expensive as going to a private university. UMich at Ann Arbor is an excellent school, and she'd only have to pay in-state tuition/fees.

why not a michigan school? might make the goal much more attainable.

Organized roadways. Some countries don't have it (Mexico, India, etc) and it's just a total free-for-all, there's no concept of the "invisible wall" coming out of the lines like we are largely beholden to here in the US.
