I wish I would have had more of a strategy. I took some time off after one year of college to figure out what I wanted to do, which was helpful. But even still I kind of bumbled around, taking some frivolous courses and taking longer to get through school than I should have... and adding on much more debt.

THANK YOU. There’s so many other clauses in this that acknowledge differences between us (maybe we’re done paying off our student loans, etc.), that this just seems a bit insulting. Some people are single by choice, some not, some are in an alternative situation entirely, some divorced. Everybody is different.

I always mix mine with mayo, pecans, and either diced apple or dried cranberries. Sometimes I add a little fresh rosemary, black pepper. Sometimes maybe even a drop of balsamic vinegar, depending on serving method/mood.

I realize this isn’t an overwhelming amount of dressing, but I live alone. This will last at least a couple weeks, right? No ingredients here look like it will get gnarly with time.

This is an extreme example of a general trend I’ve noticed where people are so afraid of commitment, they can’t even admit their intentions.

I’m actually a vegetarian because the consistency and idea of meat started to gross me out a number of years ago. So when I eat a veggie burger, I’m actually looking for veggie flavor and consistency. Carnivores seem to like to believe that all non-meat eaters are really missing a lack of animal on bread, but that’s

I’m at the point in my life (45!) that acne is my longest relationship. It’s mostly under control, and I’ve been using A313 at night: it’s made a huge difference. Between that and acne patches I feel fairly well covered. Except for the GD chest back and upper arm pimples that pop up occasionally, ugh.

My late, great cat Gustav used to love to eat any strands of my hair he’d find on the floor. When it would come to be litter-box time, the hair would work its way out a bit, and any poop would stick to it. He looked like newlyweds’ cars with cans tied to the bumper as he’d run around the apartment. So

I’m team progestin-only here, so I take my pill normally in the early afternoon. That way I can go to the west coast and still be awake for -3, and I can go east for at least +9 and not have to make it too weird. iPhone reminders are a godsend when I’m away.

It seems to be a thing going around recently. I had another friend just get upped $50/month (Spectrum, whereas I’m Optimum), but he’s the kind of person unable to cut cords.

My cable (which is really just receiving the OTA channels since I get poor reception through an antenna) went up $15/month last month. I did my normal routine of calling and saying I’ll disconnect, and waited for them to come up with a better offer, which they always did. Nope. I’m a cord cutter now, and dealing with

Bez played maracas, man!

I don’t mind Chipotle really, but they need some sort of efficiency expert to come in and sort out their lines. Every single Chipotle I’ve ever been to has a line that snakes out the door at lunch, and it’s such a slow-moving experience. Other busy chains have staff with notepads or iPads to do a pre-order for you,

This person is doing a good job at getting on track, though. I’m looking at it that way, because that’s exactly my age and it’s pretty easy to become defeatist and “why bother?”-ist when looking at retirement and other daunting financial responsibilities and not having as much as you *should*. This stuff is hard,

I have a very small kitchen but I like to keep clutter out of the sink after I’m done with dishes, so I found a collapsible tub. I hang it on the side of the oven with a magnetic hook in between uses so it’s out of sight.

This article in the NYT not too long ago was a bit eye-opening. It seems to encourage a little bit more washing than this piece, though. It also makes me feel like I’m wasting my time with some of the things I recycle.

I would think that enjoyable songs conducive to getting pumped up would be more productive than songs that make you want to run far away to avoid hearing them? Especially since you only have a five-minute break. Different strokes.

There’s overlap between Brian Eno listeners and Girls Aloud appreciators? I would think that what they’d want to do during the active time would be hit the “skip” button.

There’s no way that that $142/month Uber bill is the only form of transit unless they’re only surveying veritable shut-ins. It’s supplementary, you know for when the buses aren’t running properly and you need to be somewhere in good time, or for when it’s pouring down rain and your friend lives a 15-minute walk from

I was unemployed for almost a year long ago (thanks, Great Recession!), and it did a number on my self-esteem and mental health. But all that time I *knew* I needed a job, there just wasn’t one to be had. This guy sounds a bit off mentally, and incredibly selfish. Any adult needs time to his or herself, and needs a
