That’s a good point. With almost everything on the road a crossover, full SUV, or giant truck, something like a 928 is suddenly much sleeker. I have a 2nd Gen MR2, which is positively tiny now.

I have always loved those seats. The bulbous rear end has grown on me, too. In summary, give me this car.
I had a 1985 Starion. That’s the first variant, without the fender flares and scoops/spoilers. It was the first ‘modern’ car I owned, following a ‘76 X1/9 and ‘76 280Z. I had neither the nimbleness of the former, nor the no-nonsense track presence of the latter, but it did have a spaceship interior, air conditioning,…
That’s not how I want to remember Jack Nicklaus.
Someone standing in zero degree wind chill on a bright sunny day is not going to feel quite as cold as the same person standing in zero degree wind chill at midnight, and the reason is the wind chill equation assumes darkness, and doesn’t allow for the direct warming effect of the sun on human skin. Or am I wrong?…
imo it’s the head-to-head thing. To win a golf major, play four great rounds at a challenging course, and that might get it done. A tall order, sure, but nobody is stopping you but yourself. Win a tennis Slam? Djokovic, Nadal, and Federer are stopping you.
It also assumes darkness, so on a sunny day it won’t ‘feel’ as cold as wind chill claims it will feel.
I really hope this works for him, and I don’t mean to make light of it, but...is it wrong that I also want my femur coated in cobalt chromium?
Yeah I agree, Collins really came unglued. She did have a couple of weird things go against her (the ‘let’ beep costing her a first serve for some reason) but she didn’t handle it very well.
“It’s a decent down the line forehand passing shot”
Nah. Nobody in and around tennis thinks this about Nadal, including the players he regularly clubs into submission and who consider him a friend, or guys like Berdych and Fognini who he’s had public spats with. Someone would say something if there was something there. There isn’t.
She is amazing. It’s kind of incredible Pliskova kept it reasonably close, considering she covers about 1/50th of the court defensively. Kvitova defends better, and her offensive game is just as huge, but it’s hard to see her making a dent, either.
He’s got a chance. Of course, to do it, he’s likely going to have to beat Federer (done), Nadal, and then Djokovic. That might be asking a little too much.
“First the foot crept onto the baseline during a serve and a linesperson called out a foot fault, annulling what would’ve been the ace that sealed the match.”
“Radiohead: Most famous for a song about how they are all freaks and losers?”
I have a ‘93, which is the year they reworked the suspension to counter the snap oversteer tendency. If anything, they maybe overdid it, as it’s neutral to the point of understeer bias. It can be squirelly on a wet day tho, that’s for sure.
Don’t give up! It’s my dream car. I settled for a really nifty second-gen MR2, which, when dropped a couple inches on coilovers, can sometimes give the impression of being that crazy low (mine rides a hair above 46 inches now, compared to 44 for a stock Esprit. But it’s not nearly as wide). As undervalued as they are,…
“if they knew the other team was protesting the anthem.”
Quite as many?
