The driver should have tried thinking about baseball.
“If this is “not a hockey play,” it’s also not totally uncommon. You see all the time guys “finish their checks” with a move entirely separate from the check itself, to put a player off his skates.”
Dude bounced it two feet in front of him. That’s fine with a round ball, not a football.
Live every day like it’s your last.
I think he had earned the chance to show it was just a bad patch, rather than a decline. Sadly it appears to have been the latter. He was a great servant for a long time.
Interesting. I’m a former professional goalkeeper and I’m quoted in the second installment of that (excellent) series. I repeat: move your feet.
I forgot how bad Tim Howard was during that entire qualification. The first goal that loops over him lands three feet behind the goal line. If he’d moved his feet at all he could have caught it. The second one is a bomb, but still...move your goddamn feet.
But was he safe at second?
This is when you really miss the pure enforcers. Marchand pulls this in, say, 1999, he’s got Stu Grimson or Tony Twist or the like waiting for him the next time he hits the ice. He might survive one fight with those guys, or two, or even three; but not many more. And eventually he’d have to tone down the dickbaggery -…
Any time I read reports like this, I don’t rush to judgement until I’ve heard from the kicker.
My Dad had a Jensen Healey Roadster right up until my older brother was born. Dad drove Mom to the hospital in it, then sold it for some giant 70s GM whale the next week.
You don’t know how much money this guy has tho. There are actually rich people in the world, for whom 60k is a ‘Eh why not’ kind of decision. Big portfolio, big income, property, set retirement, lots of cash, etc. If that was me, then sure - I mean, not this dumb Integra, but a ‘72 Pantera? Hell yes.
If you like the 2nd Gen MR2, you’ll soon be able to import the JDM turbo version with the Gen 3 3SGTE, which is a night-and-day better motor than the Gen 2 we got. It’s a 50 hp gain and completely transforms the car.
I don’t know, does being ‘grown up’ include whining about inconsequential word choices of young people?
That’s your idea of ‘BS’ eh? Someone’s casual greeting? You were probably at Bennigan’s, what the fuck do you expect?
Even worse is when they make eye contact. Do not look at me! I am above your station in life, which means do not call me by my name, do not look at me.
Thanks man! Followed & will hit you up if I’m brave enough to take the plunge.
It was the right choice for you. Awesome car. I have a ‘93 NA and have rebuilt the suspension, redone the interior, and vinyl wrapped it myself. But I have no garage, so as much as I’d love to tackle a V6 swap myself, my best bet is to let an experienced MR2 place like TCS Motorsports do the Gen 4 swap.
I love a lot of the Next Gen guys. Zverev, Thiem, Shapo, Chung, Tsitsipas, Khachanov, de Minaur, Kyrgios, Tiafoe, etc - all great to watch and on their day, can beat anyone.
