Nice to see Ekins getting some respect outside of motorcycle circles. He was every bit the enthuisast, and his legacy will no doubt last as long as Mcqueen's.

@80Supra: You have brought great dishonor upon you're namesake! :(

My 240 is all I need.

@PHIL: Mostly American sedans, with a predilection for GM's 3.8, also Intrepids,Crown Vics, Merc grand marquis(pronounced markwiss) Pontiacs by the bushell(say;Grand Pricks) Lincolns with ruined airbags. Then 'sclades and Navi's.

@Ralph Wiley Is Poised: Yup, with Viggo Mortenson(who is pretty f'n cool), but with a lousy character called 'the voice' instead of SuperSoul. It mostly sucked, thats why I figure Hollywood will fuck it up again. Mark my words.

Speaking of remakes, aren't we due for another Vanishing Point? (cringe) This new one would star Dane Cook, on a mad dash from vancouver to Burning Man, in an omni GLH while chugging Absinthe from buffalo scrotum. Crazy snake catcher guy played by Zack Gallafawhatever.

@LoganSix: I'll give er' a test run and drop my notes off later;)

Mmmm, Straight Cut Gears. Sounds like constant reverse but going fast, wait, that's a pretty good description of rallying isn't it?

It's worth it just for the engine. But the whole car is stupidly wonderfully awesome. NP NP NP. As a matter of fact, call the EMTs now, I think I'm gonna buy it(pun intended).

@Jim Speedbump: That is ten kinds of awesome! Now reassemble it and bring to me.

@dosdelon: +1million for Falling Down reference.

@Remus Suciu: Um, Diesel Abrams? I could be wrong but, I believe the turbine engine runs on jp8, diesel that is.

@CABEZAGRANDE: I have always wanted to do that, or maybe a caprice, or a Caddy, also add 5-speed. Just to freak people out when you snatch 2nd.

@stuntdriver: That's no disguise, it is clearly his natural form.

@apocalypsedonkey-boxy,but good.: Also if I'm not mistaken.. this was the first car to use pressurized chassis tubes so that any cracks would be readily apparent, smart ass Germans!

I don't think any car before or since has so thoroughly re-written the book of go-fast as the 917. This thing was like a spaceship at the time. Also Brian Redman's stones must be made of darkmatter to be so massive!

Please tell me it's Bangle. And that he's being nightsticked as we speak, for atrocities against nature.
