Actually, if we take the SU graphic novel Too Cool for School as an accurate depiction of Steven's education, he's had a considerably more structured education than the unschooling method entails. Pearl brags that Steven has a received "a galaxy-class education," and he gets a virtually perfect score on a test at

Yeah, after my initial exuberance over Steven being able to fuse with another Gem, my first thought was about how Connie will feel regarding this development.

Other than putting "Mr. Greg" at the top, I don't know how to make such a list. There were too many great ones.

Made all the creepier by that face. Biting the knife like that? Sheesh.

Eyeball comes down burning hot and lands - with a parachute she got somewhere - right in front of the Crystal Gems. The shock causes Garnet to split, and Sapphire rubs her one eye in disbelief before saying, "This is, by a wide margin, the least likely thing that has ever happened."

Yeah, that's totally fair.

Is it strange that I found Bismuth highly sympathetic and not even terribly unreasonable? I saw her as deeply traumatized and harboring a profound sense of betrayal. To me she's an example of PTSD, and it never occurred to me to think of her as any sort of problematic depiction of an Angry Black Woman until I first

Right.

I do take considerable exception to a lot of the tone of this article, considering that 1996-97 represented pretty much the peak of my engagement and investment - intellectually, emotionally, and financially - in so-called alternative music, but it's a solid reminder of the period if nothing else.

In the comics, Garnet and Steven go inside Pearl's Gem to retrieve a corrupted Gem that Pearl unknowingly sucked up when she pulled a bunch of trash into her Gem. It was an odd story.

I doubt they actively hid it, as in actually prevented her from finding out.

Thank you for writing this piece. Lilo & Stitch is truly dear to me, for all the reasons mentioned here and in the comments.

It's not often that I completely agree with every point of a review, but this is one of them.

Plus the issues of natural resource depletion are quite recent relative to how long Rose had been around. I doubt she would have really noticed in just the past 150 years or so even if she had been concerned with such things.

Again, how have we still not gotten Connie and Peridot together? I need it. The world needs it.

Given that I was also an overachieving nerd with few friends and too much time paying attention to the news at Connie's age, her mini-rant about humans destroying themselves rang pretty true to me. I was worrying about the same things back then (and still am).

Your comments remind me of the horrific stabbing attack on a disabled care facility in Japan the other day. The guy sincerely thought he was slaughtering those people to strengthen Japan and the world, because they supposedly contributed nothing to society and were simply burdens on the state and their families.

Rebecca was asked about the song at Comic-Con last week, and she said that it's actually intended to be much more universal rather than tied to one specific pair of characters.

Those are the sorts of things abusers really do say in the real world. Saying they've changed and that things will be different? Those lines are cliche because they really do happen all the time.

I've never said it before and I might never say it again, but… poor Ronaldo.
