No alarm. Pelosi secretly dialed 911 and left the phone on speaker.

I’m a little surprised that there wasn’t someone assigned to the Speaker’s spouse, but I’d think intrusion detection and response should generally be sufficient for just the residence.

It’s the “free speech absolutist” position -- right-wingers must have unlimited access to all platforms to lie, harass, and threaten, and anyone who objects must be silenced (in the name of “free speech,” of course).

“It’s not that Daddy doesn’t love you, I just love football more. Maybe because it doesn’t let me down, unlike you and your siblings.”

“...who will continue to be the center of our world in every way.”

If she’d voluntarily told him she would, and there was a near-term drop-dead date on that career, then yeah she’d be just as big an asshole.

Why ask for just one when I’ve already given you three???

Side note: I was at the Old Town Ale House when he stopped in on what I believe might have been his night on Earth. Not sure if it was the night i was there or the next evening.

Most daycares close at 6:30. How is a 12-14 hour day supposed to make childcare easier? That would be a nightmare trying to figure out. Plus at my kid’s daycare, they only accept so many “part time” kids- because of teacher ratios. Also, part time daycare costs more per day. They don’t just give you a 2/5ths discount.

ah hahahahaha, what a horrible attempt at a bad faith argument

Their point about Florida is perfectly valid, pointing out how different states handle worker rights and rightfully calling out the states lacking in that segment isn’t a “knee-jerk dogwhistle”.

Fixed it for you:

Yeah, no. 3 day work week should mean I can work fewer hours for the same pay. People fought make the 8 hour day/40 hour week happen. We should be shortening it.

Yet another Bigot-Chicken puff piece from The Takeout (c’mon, tell us how you really feel guys). Too bad they’re too busy coming up with the very “christian” idea of making at/near minimum wage workers work 14 hour shifts on their feet that they can’t formulate a company wide non-discrimination policy that covers

I work long hours in an office (10 - 12 hours a day, and paid OT), and that’s still tiring. And I’d take it any day over working a mere 4 hour shift at Starbucks like I did years ago.

First thought was “Yeah, they then won’t have to provide health insurance since they would be under 30 hours” but damn, a 13-14 hour shift? You can see how some states are more protective of workers than others. CFL saw no cost difference in FL because OT doesn’t kick in until 40 hours are worked. In CA OT kicks in

“Can be done” is not the same as “reasonable” or “humane”. Also, I’m not sure I want to be treated by a healthcare worker in the tail end of a 3rd 12-hour day.

Dietary fibers are not fully broken down and digested which allows us to create bread with 1g net carb per serving.”
