If anti-capitalism (and I mean anti-capitalism, not Elizabeth Warren, “I’m a capitalist to my bones,” type of neoliberal capitalism), is not part of your movement, then it’s not “the left.” The left means the left. Not the center. In most countries our center and the center left would be considered conservative.

Your criticisms of Emily’s article are completely valid without shitting on “the left.” Unless she’s gone on record saying she’s a Marxist, communist, anti-capitalist, etc., she’s not a leftist.
