Me me me me me”

The fact that you made this situation about you says way more than necessary.

What happened to Iraq war veterans? And which war, 1991 or 2003? I remember them murdering a lot of unarmed people and facing zero criminal consequences. I don’t recall any bottles of urine chucked at them when they got back.

I mean it’s possible that veterans returning from a really unpopular war, who saw all the war crimes their side committed (or committed themselves), might be motivated to inflate some situations out of a psychic need to defend themselves and their actions. But we’re not talking about that. We’re talking about how you

You asserting something happened because it’s what your uncle told you is the opposite of fact. This may come as a surprise to you, but grownups often lie and tell fantastic tales to their credulous, naive younger family members.

Grandpa, get off the Internet.

No. You’re a stranger on the Internet. And moreover, if it was true, who cares?

Well said.

I’ve voted in every election since 2000 and have served as an election judge and I’m still going to get on the internet and complain about centrists and neoliberals. They are holding the door open for conservatives to destroy this country.

If you’re a political activist and have been watching what the Democratic Party leadership has done to newly elected officials over the past 6 years, you’d think twice about running too.

Nancy Pelosi has waaaaaaay more to do with wearing down progressive women in Congress than any grumpy people on the Internet.

Presidential elections are effectively gerrymandered by the Electoral College. Californians’ votes counts less than voters in less populated states.

Whoops, my mistake. I see that combination in cleaning recipes so my eyes were faster than my brain, apparently.

The benefits of vinegar and baking soda cancel each other out: https://www.apartmenttherapy.com/vinegar-baking-soda-cleaning-mixture-myth-36880375

This isn’t public opinion. This is a bunch of broadly 40+ year old people with time on their hands to comment on a shitty internet site.

I don’t know who you are responding to, but it ain’t me. We’re talking about you shutting down someone else questioning the initial reading of this conflict. It’s something grownups do.

Counter-counterpoint: No. EmIsMe making a comment on the internet isn’t going to cause WWIII. Talking about these issues doesn’t will them into being, this isn’t The Secret, it’s international events.

You’re not going to win over a lot of people in this community but I agree with you. It’s very hard for Americans to untangle the propaganda they’ve been fed for their entire lives. The idea that other nations are led by rational actors, even if they don’t agree with their decisions, is not something they are

I don’t think they are full of shit. They’ve made a lot of really good points. But I’m a cynical 40-something who watched my nation destroy two countries and murder 1 million+ people, with nothing to show for it. Well, not nothing, war profiteers made a fuck ton of money.

I loved that show. It seemed so grown up to me as a little ape.
