Ridley Scott (!) was developing that for a while. He wanted to make it a comedy about the idea of greed.

No one listens to the radio anymore, and no one watches network sitcoms, so I can see how otherwise pop culture literate people can block those things out. I know a whole bunch of people who were shocked when I told them it was the same guy.
I've seen it! Only saw a couple of episodes before the format switch, but it's a half-decent sitcom. As opposed to stuff like the 30 Rock live episodes, it's extremely loose. It feels like the episodes have 15 page scripts, with the missing third of the show filled in by improvised jokes, breaking and a musical guest…
I love it when CBB's weird asides turn out to be setup. I didn't even blink at the in-depth discussion of Cudi's drumsticks or Merchant's rock collection.
Some people have baggage, dude. Not saying my album 15 would've been a masterpiece, but we'll never know because my dog ate it.
"Who's on first" is a sketch in which Abbot tells Costello about a baseball lineup, but Costello mistakes the players' names for common phrases. There, I saved you ten minutes!
This has 20 announced shows, almost ten of which I actually want to check out. Why be snarky already?
It's a video sketch. Why would you want the AV Club to give away the joke of the video they're sharing?
I'd love a monthly follow-up conversation with Fielder on the podcast
Any more than people buying vinyl? They both have warmer but undeniably lower-quality sound than almost anything digital. It's a different experience. Quentin Tarantino tapes movies off the TV. People have weird preferences.
I really don't understand all the mediocre reviews this movie is getting. It's hard to separate the film from the gimmick, but that doesn't make the gimmick a hindrance - it's the greatest and most effective tool the movie has. Victoria was undoubtedly the most intense movie I saw in the cinema this year.
Both Sherlock and series five of Doctor Who came right out of the gate with the exact right tone, clever ideas and a refreshing perspective. And then both shows slowly turned into frustrating parodies of themselves.
I remember how he talked about shooting Doctor Who like a "proper movie" rather than using gothic sets,…
I'd assume, based on the article, that this Patrick Ness guy will be in charge. Who's the "showrunner" isn't really that important in most UK television since none of the shows have writers' rooms anyway. Moffat doesn't technically run Sherlock, but it still displays all his strengths and weaknesses as a writer.
You missed BoJack Horseman 2, the best show of 2015 so far.
Yea, I read some of those. Really enjoyed Red Bird to the Rescue!
As a foreign person, though not an elected representative of all foreign people, I'd rather you stop trying to pronounce our words the way you think we do. If you know French or Spanish, go ahead with those names, but I'd rather not ever again hear an American attempt to pronounce a Japanese/Swiss/Somalian name…
I'm Norwegian, and have failed almost every John Oliver geography test.
That was my joke. Except less angry and without capslock.
Think of this from the perspective of a YA author. You want your world to be filled with diverse characters, but you don't want to write racially descriptive introductions. Naming them ethnically unambiguous names like Cho Chang and Parvati Patil is an easy way to communicate their background to readers.
What would be a recognizably asian name that wouldn't sound stereotypical to you?
