I've come from the slightly further future to say I wholeheartedly agree.

Just everything about that game was great to me. The plot, the world (carried over from the Final Fantasy Tactics games), the summons, even the battle system in general I really enjoyed. And I still defend the License Board against it's (admittedly justified) criticism. I'm so amped for the remaster next spring, it's

Final Fantasy XII is probably tied with Final Fantasy VI as my series-favorite. I have noticed a decent amount of parallels between some elements of this new one and that one as well.

No he could control his memories. Remember at the end when he controls the memory of his son's death.

But I did find that a bit tough to suspend disbelief given the difficulty of erasing someone even in this day and age.
