I think what I enjoyed the most about this comic is how grounded the dialogue is. I’m so used now to the grandiose dialogue of superheroes, the great one liners - “with great power” etc. For the most, this fits the genre, but it’s refreshing to read Superman talking in plainer terms.

There had better be some kind of remembrance segment about Iwata. Nintendo Direct was so connected to him - I’m happy they’re still doing them, obviously, but if they don’t mention it, there will be an empty, un-fillable space.

What other music fads deserve their own statue?

I hope whatever they wrote “Happy Birthday”with isn’t chocolate, but ponzu sauce, BBQ sauce, Sriracha, or any other savoury sauce that you can then slather your meat in.

Aw yes

Aw, why did I miss this one?

Man this can’t get here quickly enough. I went and re-read all of Alias last week and I’m pumped, pumped for this. Dangerous levels of pumped, even, if this isn’t at least as good as Daredevil I’m gonna be a sad pile of bones.

In the very first one, I thought they were covering their backs against possible backlash at how muslims are portrayed or something. But yeah, I’d agree it’s fluff, but then people are very sensitive about certain thing.

That’s some mighty smack down.

Dude and close to home, too!! Thanks :D

Gotta say I’d never heard of it, but looking it up led me to a movie called “His Girl Friday” which seems to have a really fucked-up plot...

This sounds amazing! I hope I can catch it in cinemas if it ever comes to the UK... or I hope I don’t forget about it and buy the DVD/BluRay when it comes out.

Yeah, it actually annoys me more than anything. I know it’s a style, but maybe I’ve gotten too used to British TV and it’s ugly people ;)

My favourite of the bunch defs

N-no! I - I’d never, not bear butt!

Is it weird I’m annoyed at how everyone is so pretty? Like, what’s the bloody point of having such a cute Charles Henri-Sanson? Or such a hot phantom of the Opera? What is he conflicted about - his beautiful straight nose? His pouty, kissable lips? Surely some characters could be not so hot?

Thank you! This is what I was thinking of. It’s sad to say I had forgotten that the characters in Earthsea were meant to be of darker skin colour, and for a moment I was confused about why she had even mentioned race. Just to show how whitewashing does affect :/

Yes, I remember her saying once that only Hayao Miyazaki got the non-violence in her stories (at least in the first three Earthsea books), and yet this film was pretty violent by Ghibli standards. I think I remember her saying that that was what had disappointed her the most.

Tales of Earthsea had a couple good scenes - Theru’s loneliness in the field comes to mind. In fact, I remember loneliness was well represented in the film - and the soundtrack was pretty amazing, too.

Oh yeah, later that penny dropped and I realised that why wouldn’t she want to help her husband out? Anyway she doesn’t seem to be drawing at all anymore I think, instead she concentrates on being producer for the new Sailor Moon stuff.
