I know why the crash occurred. Someone let the Greeks operate a helicopter. I can’t remember the last time I heard of Greece doing a good job at something. :/ Not to be a dick, but...
It’s not childish to expect others to obey the law, but it’s childish to enforce the law. We (society) have hired people to do that. Trying to enforce the law yourself when you don’t have the training, resources, or authority to do so is a good way to get yourself (or someone else) hurt.
Please explain to me how the global temperature increasing by a fraction of a degree per CENTURY is going to have any notable effect on how often flights are grounded. I don’t think Jalopnik always has an “extreme” liberal agenda, but this story certainly is an example of an extreme agenda.
But the first cars were not funded by a government taking money from the taxpayers to prop the car company up. Some guy invented a thing, the rich bought it, and the guy used that money to make the thing more affordable, so on and so forth. Subsidies are not required for innovation.
Cold. Dead. Hands.

Preventing an armed robbery and stopping a moving car (from the inside) are two very different things. One I can do with relative safety, the other I can’t.
I think it’s about efficiency. “Unit” applies to cars, trucks, vans, etc but it rolls off the tongue more quickly and easily than “automobile” and doesn’t take up as much space on a powerpoint slide. If you’re talking only about truck sales, sure call it a truck. Same for cars and vans. But if you’re putting them…
Out of all of the gun owners in America, more of them are harmed by the gun than defended by it. But you’re using “gun owner” as the sample. If you use “concealed carry permit holders that regularly use a gun safe, never carry when impaired, practice frequently at a controlled range, and don’t commit suicide” as…
I’m honestly happy for you that you’ve never had an experience where you had to fear for the safety of you and your family and feel powerless. Not everyone is so lucky. My grandfather’s house was broken into and he was shot in the gut by a man with a hunting rifle (Detroit). Damn near killed him, they called him…
“More than one person has made a life decision that I disagree with? Impossible! He must be switching accounts!”
Spend a little more time outside in the real world and you’ll discover a vast array of different people. Some people might look different, some might sound different, and some might even make life choices…
Lol I guess I started it with “half-wit,” so I won’t complain about that escalation. I can’t speak for where jlnbos lives, but in my state it’s not trespassing to carry on private property even if it’s posted that the owner bans guns. So yes, trespassing is the law, but carrying where guns are banned is not…
Rules =/= laws, half-wit.
Everybody talks shit about “you’re such a pussy for carrying.” I didn’t carry until my wife started working a new job in the city. Every night she was walking across a big-ass parking lot alone after work, and one night she was followed by a car. It was definitely following her, because there were two lots…
Rules =/= laws
I’m pretty sure that cities, counties, and states already cover most of the costs of transportation infrastructure (with the exception of interstate roads). Unless I’m trippin, this is non-news. Just more anti-Trump silliness.
What they had was a LOT of engineers and decades of experience and lessons learned.
The answer is yes, you can build your own engine. But it’s going to suck ass. Low power, unreliable, and it’ll probably wear out very quickly. If you must, I’d suggest HIGHLY simplistic. Two valves per cylinder SOHC direct acting, maybe air and oil cooled?
Came here for this comment. Thank you. You’re not alone.
Because once the car is past “new” status, little things like wear on plastic buttons isn’t a big deal. And if they save 1.25 on every car they sell in the U.S. (54000 in 2016) that increases Porsche’s profits by over 65,000 dollars. No one has decided not to buy a Porsche because of the buttons, but the money that…
