The cautionary tale in my head is Carnivale, which had a fully-mapped story and an HBO budget which was visible in the cinematography and the acting talent (although WW has it beat with name recognition).

Ok, so Ed Harris is a WestWorld 'supergamer', and clearly now intent on hacking into it. But reason for his carte blanche is still unrevealed. It's also unclear how he became aware of this 'hidden quest' and whether he understands it is something planned. Hell, maybe he ponied up for a customization given how bored…
I'll steer into the powers question. He's got enhanced strength and unbreakable skin but catching a bullet in his palm, shouldn't bones in his hand break? Or are his bones, while still breakable, also enhanced?
Please never use "jive turkey" ever again, ironically or otherwise. Just don't.
Some stuff rings true, some…
Just realized that for everyone theorizing that the MiB is a rogue host: the hosts couldn't harm him. We don't know the mechanics of the weapon tech (and I'm fascinated to know more) but it doesn't seem like something he could hack or override.
I can buy that but the story would have to explain how he has been both rogue and yet receiving upgrades. Unless he just has been sentient for a moment but was able to hide in plain sight. Hopefully we'll get significant clues in the next couple eps
An interesting theory. The 30 year comment doesn't jibe with that though, because we see that the generation of robots from which he would have originated were much stiffer and much more detectable as simulacra. But maybe?
I thought taking the scalp was interesting. Maybe he's trying to gain access to some restricted…
Well, the only problem there is, the sequel FutureWorld involved the corporation basically being Bond villains and attempting to replace world leaders with robot clones.
So, that would have to be retconned out. But as I mentioned in another comment, I suspect that (or very close to that) is the big plan of management.
I am surprised that the scalped host being missing isn't detected by the operators. I buy that the man in black has been coming to WW long enough that he knows who are essentially extras but I would have imagined that extreme deviation from the scripts (like getting kidnapped and scalped) would trigger some alert. So…
Ok, so we have lots of scheming going on.
Mgmt is clearly pulling in the FutureWorld story arc, namely perfecting androids until they can be used to replace world leaders.
Hopkins wants sentience, but of a docile sort.
Bernard I suspect wants sentience of a different sort.
Our man in black is clearly bored with the…

The Expanse is superior to everything you listed.
Sure, why not.
Watch both. Penny Dreadful is Victorian Horror. Outcast is existential horror. Both lean away from gore in favor of supernatural terror and suspense seasoned with realistic violence.
You're spot-on with your second point.
Your first point has had some discussion; I attributed it to overzealousness on the part of the agent as well as it being early enough that hey, maybe a murder can contain this clusterfuck.
Hopper is different. Did he tell anyone where he was going? He can't just disappear or show…
I forget who, but someone sees Barb's corpse.
I'll never understand this attempt to somehow convince African-Americans that the modern-day GOP does not embrace racist policies. There is clear and objective data of the demographic and voting trends reflecting a post-civil rights era swap of the party bases. The modern-day GOP is comprised of the remnants of the…
I can try. I don't know your profession but whatever it is, I'm guessing you have your way of doing things and your peers have theirs. Same with coders, law enforcement and chefs.
Same with agents. Blonde woman, she's kind of a hard-ass. She didn't have to kill the guy, and it creates problems so she made the wrong…
true story, soccer was an invisible sport in the USA in the 80s. Despite seeing a soccer field throughout my high school year, I was only marginally aware we had a soccer team until I dated a player on the girls team.
Now, of course, you can't drive 5 miles without passing a soccer park.
someone had an interesting theory that the so-called upside-down is really just another parallel dimension that was just like ours but that got invaded and wiped out by whatever species that creature is. and my extension to that is, maybe the creature was the last straggler scavenging until El breached the dimension.
