I got CBS All Access (I guess Paramount+ as of today) to watch The Stand. I’ve always wanted to enjoy Star Trek, but I’ve never really been able to get into it. I decided to give Discovery a shot, since I have this app. I love it! It’s the first time I’ve enjoyed a Trek show. I can’t wait for Strange New Worlds.

Cool! Looks like she came onboard Disco during Season 3, which was excellent. Fresh perspectives on the franchise are always welcome.

Yes! On both counts. It was a popular show, even if some TNG fans didn’t enjoy it.

Wow, bias for and against races that don’t even exist? It makes it incredulous why some so-called “Trekkies” also rail against showing actual race and gender diversity and lifestyle.

It’s a lot more than Discovery going on prime time TV. CBS entire fall lineup is All Access and Reality. They don’t even have NCIS to sustain them this year. 

Not true at all. The big issue they have is they have no show on deck for the fall since production would have been during the spring/summer. They don’t even have NCISs to burn off.

In fairness, that was a single little joke about a Scotty specific character trait, and this expands on the joke in a way where it’s saying something different.

I find this to be great. 1) it is quite funny, and 2) basically with the fact its being widely embraced by even those who had issues with Picard and Discovery any detractors left are much easier to filter out as the incel trolls they are.

Both have flaws, but so did the other Treks. People who say otherwise have rose tinted glasses on.

It’s actually available now if you can watch it. I just finished a few minutes ago and it was hilarious.

I, for one, have enjoyed Discovery and Picard for what they are. Both have flaws, some glaring, but I’ve found a lot that I’ve liked. I look forward to checking out the first episode of Lower Decks tonight.

It took two years for Rick and Morty to come to Canada. Just food for thought before anyone else claims this is “proof” that streaming Trek is all terrible and Alex Kurtzman is about to lose the franchise to Seth McFarlane, or whatever this week’s YouTube conspiracy theory might be.
