Travel to and from the district is vital to the job. Dems and Republicans go back and forth often, and catch hell from their constituents when they don’t. As a representative, you are required to maintain residency and it’s preferable for you to remain an active, involved participant in the community.

It took a few episodes for me, but I became fascinated by the show and think it’s incredible. The first episode of the second season was probably one of my favorite episodes of television ever. And Carrie Coon and Ann Dowd are terrific. However, it’s certainly not for everyone.

I just wanted to add, while I agree with your sentiments, there was a warning before the episode that said it would include scenes of rape.

I worked in that arena and had a realization (and this goes for both sides) - it really doesn’t matter if they win or are effective. What matters is keeping the lights on. So if what they produce pleases the donors/clients, regardless of the outcome, it’s what they do.
