AIUI, GM managed to iron out some of the issues with cooling and whatnot, in the later engines. I’m not sure if the aftermarket has figured out how to get earlier engines right, and I don’t really know how much of a market there is for that anyway, fun as a good Vega is to drive. The Cosworth is really the only one

Not gonna lie, I have always liked the way the Vega looks, especially the early chrome bumper ones like this. If I had no money concerns I’d get one (maybe not this one, if only because it’s USP is the super low mileage)

I thought the brown and plaid subscription was the top tier?

I was more concerned/annoyed with the fact that it looks like they carefully masked off the bumpers, headlights, windshield and trim, and the mirror, but skipped the frunk handle and chrome trim - the bit that’s still unpainted doesn’t look covered. Same with the right side chrome spear - unless poor print repro

Late to the party (I’m only just finishing this season), but ISTR that Frank mentioned Fiona at least once. But yeah, once they got about halfway through the money she left the family, it’s like she didn’t exist.

Sell it, buy a regular one, mod it with the extra cash you save by not buying a pristine weekend toy 10AE. You’d even have the money to paint it the same shade of blue if you wanted (can’t help you with the special interior but I’d rather have cloth anyway)

I thought they were royalty checks from an appearance on a Japanese tv show - they kept using a clip of him or something, and the exchange rate meant that the checks were tiny.

The true cutting edge technology will be the ability for this car to leave a small puddle on the ground whenever you park it for more than a day.

I dig that two tone.

Were they mounted on wheels when you bought them? Cause a cursory glance at the insides would’ve shown you they’d been patched and plugged.

I’ve wanted to build a Manx for years and years - an original style short one - but financially and space wise it’s never in the cards.

It’s why you get the chowder bucket rather than the chowder bag.

You are doing it for the same reason people climb Mount Everest. Because it’s a challenge, and it’s there.

The Miata hardtop market is pretty robust, it probably won’t sit around that long.

FWIW, if you’re selling a really janky Miata with a hardtop, I guarantee you that at least half the people inquiring about it will just want to buy the HT. This happened to me, and I ended up throwing away the car and sticking the HT

People absolutely buy Wranglers with no intention of putting the top down - it’s why you see so many of them with hardtops. It’s a huge pain in the rear, even with the “improved” JL top, and the hardtops weigh a ton and take up a lot of room to store (double that for an Unlimited). That, or they do it once or twice,

Someone upthread said that current Harley security systems would need re-setting when you reconnect the battery, which might be the reason they do it.

Legit question - do all Harleys sound that loud? I was under the impression that a lot of buyers get loud exhausts fitted, but that the stock bike is relatively quiet.

That said I wouldn’t be surprised if dealers just installed loud exhausts on them as soon as they arrived.

Illinois did new plates every year till like 1977 - every year the date embossed on it changed (of course) and the colors were new. It’s a thing among classic car owners in this state to get a set of plates from the year your car was built to use at car shows (sadly you can’t use old style plates on a car legally).

Fun fact: the store I work at has a furniture item called “Lana”, and that is exactly how we would ask for it.

“I need a Lana. Lana! LAAAANAAAAAA!”

I love Aisha Tyler, but  I’d keep expecting to hear “Nooooooooope” every time someone got a wrong answer.
