I don’t say this often, especially about automobiles, but I’ll be in my bunk.

I would like to have another second gen Honda CRX Si. Mine was an ‘89, black, and except for an Ansa exhaust (which replaced the rusted original) was stock. I got it my freshman year of college and got rid of it a couple of years after graduation - sadly as a broke student I really just drove it till it fell apart.…
It’s not the part costs, it’s the labor. I could handle the mechanical work needed, even though I’m not a super experienced mechanic they’re things I’ve either done or at least understand how to do. But I don’t own a welder nor do I know how to weld, so that’s a job for the pros to handle.
IIRC this is a reference to Tom Morello taking down some guy who was telling him to stay in his lane, at which point Morello brought up his honors degree in politics. This of course upset conservatives.
I’ve been fortunate in that I’ve always had very short commutes, and snow removal around here tends to be very on point. I’m rarely in actual snow (I didn’t even bother with snow tires on the NA). My cars have also always been stock, so I’ve not needed to worry about ground clearance, etc.
Visibility in an S2K is way…
You know what knocks me out, metaphorically? I spent about sixteen years daily driving an NA Miata, year round in the Midwest, where we have winter. I had a hardtop for the snow months, and the ragtop the rest of the year. So I spent a lot of time trying to see out of that car with different tops on it, as well as…
Because you had to live in that suit. You wore a suit every day if you had any kind of job that put you into an office of any kind. And chances are you only had a couple of them, so you’d iron them and air them out and eventually wash them. You gotta remember that most people who had to wear a suit to work weren’t Don…
The whole story of Malcolm Bricklin and his involvement in the auto industry is just strange - he’s accurately described as a PT Barnum type. There’s a book about the Yugo that spends a good chunk of time talking about the Subaru US operation and the 360 story - worth a read.
Yeah, they just melted here in the midwest.
I kind of wonder if this is an “I don’t want to sell it” price to keep a significant other happy. “Look, I put it up for sale, but it’s a tough market right now! Best just keep it”
Gas Monkey restored Krew Kut - I think they made a couple of mechanical changes to make it more drivable, and repaired some body damage. I watched that episode (I’ll record the show if they’re working on something I like, and I like this truck) but I don’t remember the specifics. I do remember them trying to match the…
I think the trailer behind the Discovery held an aluminum boat - there’s an outboard motor just lying behind it. It’s astonishing that it just melted away.
Right? That one seemed out of left field - such a rare car compared to the others in the show. I wonder who the car nerd is on that show?
Yeah, I think the recipes and ingredients probably changed - we’d go there for lunch in the summertime when I was a kid (the individual pizzas were the right size for us) and everyone thought it was good. That said, if we were ordering a pizza for dinner we’d usually go to a local place we liked.
They had a Pizza Hut…
It still kind of baffles me that someone hasn’t made a kit for this. The Wrangler must be much more complicated than I imagine it to be!
“Flinging the Poodle” showing up on Urban Dictionary in three...two....one....
I don’t believe there’s a rule requiring a B-pillar from roof to floor (the car pictured has a shortened pillar, like the sixties Lincoln Continental). But, the car needs to still pass side impact regs, and the solid pillar helps there I imagine (not an engineer, knows just enough to be dangerous).
One of the reasons clean A80 Supras go for such big money is the fact that, despite a higher production run, they’re thinner on the ground these days. So many of those were just beaten up and thrown away, or modified to ridiculous extents, that stock ones are hard to find. People bought Prowlers specifically to just…
I still haven’t finished it, I’ve got like three episodes left (I started it in April or May). Then again now that it’s nice out I’m spending less time watching TV, but still, I managed to get through like three seasons of Mad Men before it left Netflix.
I wonder if it was like Collier Motors, where they just kept selling off old stock and sometimes buying used cars to sell.
